1. The Colgate container still has the original cardboard inserts and both Gems look to have never been used. The Khaki has a 1918 serial number and U.S. Army markings. The razor looks like it was made yesterday while the case is a little rough. I got all of this for very little. It was quite a morning

  2. Does it have threads in the cap that would allow you to screw, say, an Arko stick into it?

Oh, I missed the khaki all together - NICE!

  3. Those are great boar brushes for the money. Give it about 10-15 uses and the tips soften up perfectly.
  4. Great score on the Myrsol. Post shave properties are fantastic.

  7. A very nice razor!
With the separators being lines and not dots and the numbers not being colored I think it's safe to say that it's not a "vintage" Progress (meaning it has more than likely been w/in the past 20 years or so.
    Great haul.
  8. OK... Waiting on two more brushes to show up then I'm laying off the 'bay for a while...after just a couple more bids.

    Unknown Lucite brush
    Fuller "pure bristle" brush
    Seaforth shave mug
Williams double sided shave stick(it was part of the deal and probably going in the circular file)

  9. Technically a 5 mins break is 'a while' :D

    Sidenote: Love that lucite handle.
Sidenote II: Don't you dare throw away that old soap canister.

  10. Lol..true. I do check my 'bay app a few times a day.

Other than no name or markings at all on the handle, it is perfect! Not a single scratch.

I won't throw the canister, but do not trust the stick. Sadly only one side of the canister screws down. The other threads are mangled a little.

  12. New shaving soap containers from specialty bottle. Amber, blue and clear. I am impressed, they beat the pucks which were ordered earlier.

  15. Received a Leresche #34 or #35 (Leresche has that same silliness where the box it's in can determine the name of the razor - and in this case the 34 and 35's are the same razors but named on what box it originally came in).

The razor's head is incredibly clean and without any scratches
    [IMG]

The handle looks very good but with some darker spots/areas on it.
All in all a very clean razor.

    Here's a side-by-side showing the #34/35 next to my #51.
The #51 (on the bottom of the photo) has a wider and shorter handle compared to the #34/35.

Will be interesting to see how it shaves compared to the 51.

  17. Hmm.... I wonder how that would shave. If one side would end up getting more use and would need to flip the blade each day.... Very cool looking though.

  20. I was told the solid bar was slightly more aggressive than the open comb.
so I've been using the open for first passes, then sb for against the grain and cleanup.
I give no mind to flipping or reversing. three shaves, then any sign of dulling, it gets dumped.
it's a great feeling razor. it has good weight and balance. grips very nicely.
    the only fly in the ointment I could find;
the head is bigger than I'm used to. I find it a touch diff to get under my nose easily.

if I didn't enjoy using a variety. this one could be one I'd be happy using everyday. it's that nice.
