Now I get it I've been using Fougère products for a while without really appreciating the scent. It was never offensive or enough to make me stop since the performance was always there. Usually, I shake up any aftershave slash to recombine ingredients, but today I realized that if I don't shake up B&M Fougère Classique, the scent is more pleasing to me. It might be placebo, but the scent seemed softer and more welcoming today. It is an excellent compliment to Fougère Imperiale, and my face feels great. I've been guilty of giving up on a soap or aftershave very quickly, and I'm glad I kept at it this time. Prep: warm water splash Soap: B&M Fougère Imperiale Brush: HIS Razor: der vorschlaghammer Blade: voskhod AS: B&M Fougère Classique
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, after this shave with the Glacial Obsidian soap and using the Alcolado Glacial splash I felt like I was outdoors in Siberia in January - what a great freeze!

Thursday, April 16, 2015 Plisson Synthetic Palmolive Cream + 4 drops glycerine + 4 drops M-Bomb Aristocrat (NDC) w/Voskhod (1) Cold rinse, alum, Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Witch Hazel, 444 Balm, Osage Rub A very cool shave. I have a limited amount of mentholated products, so the only way I can "mix things up" is by adding M-Bomb to creams or soaps.
When I used it before it had a sharp scent when first applied, so I was unhappy with it. I did not want to give up, so I read the bottle and it didn't say anything about shaking it up, as many do, so I just decided to try it without shaking today.

I don't think so - the Veg is pretty acrid to me. My wife and I smelled some in the store and were repelled pretty intensely. Ymmv tho!
Arko April Focus - CJB Kamisori April 16, 2015 - Week 3 Day 5 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - VDH Boar Soap - Proraso Razor - 1959 Superspeed Blade - (2) Post - Alum, Proraso Early meeting this morning at work so I passed on the CJB. '59 SS and Bic did a very nice job. Three passes and I found the baby. I'm impressed with this blade. I called it a second day for it since I have used it on third pass only on two occasions after the CJB. Gotta run!
4/16/15 Staff meeting Thursday Prep: warm wash and Cornhusker's lotion Lather: St. James Mandarin & Patchouli Brush: TGN Synthetic Razor: Gillette New SC Blade: Rapira Stainless (3) Post: Old Spice Pure Sport 3 passes. The blade was not good from the first pass to the end, but I powered through. Ended up with BBS but face feels a little raw. Only change in blade use was a quick hand strop after yesterday's shave. Maybe this blade can't handle that? Regardless, on to another blade tomorrow. I just hope the staff meeting this morning doesn't leave other parts feeling raw as well. The last 6 weeks of school puts people on edge and they might not be quite as sharp either.

THURSDAY Sterling shave this morning—using the Stirling Cool soap with my Otto Deutsch! Plenty of menthol chill to the soap/lather, although I find the scent slightly medicinal. Near BBS-quality results, however. Have a blessed Thursday, all!
Shave #6 Getting better at lather. You could stand up a spoon in the Nivea gel whipped up in a bowl. Experimenting with angle and pressure because I'm trying to hit all the spots - not getting an even shave. Tried ATG. Whooo, you gotta be careful! The grain seems to pull the razor towards the skin. With a cheap 2-blade disposable, I could lean on it ATG and not get cut. Trying to figure out how to fasten a stand to the closet door. On the small sink is not realistic.
4/16/2015 Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Gillette Red Tip, H. Boker Master Razor straight razor Blade: Wilkinson Sword (7) Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat After: Home made ASB, Nivea ASB Cologne: Midnight in Paris Happy Thursday! The Vie Long brush whipped up a nice and thick lather with the MWF. The Boker and the Red Tip did a great job taking down the whiskers. The Nivea ASB gives me some needed moisturizing and the Midnight in Paris will have me smelling good all day. Have a blessed day!
