The CBS news broadcast by Douglas Edwards. The Sputnik moment ... ... now it is a razor blade you shave with!

Freezing Friday: To celebrate the order I just placed for some more Stirling Glacial soaps and other goodies, here's what I'm using tomorrow morning! Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Personna day 5 Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EdT After the heavenly and frigid shave which I had this morning from the Glacial Obsidian soap, I decided to duplicate it tomorrow with another soap from the same family but with a different scent. The Lemon Chill has so much rich, slick lather which explodes off the brush and that menthol power can make you see stars. Every time I finish shaving with this stuff my skin feels not only frozen-stiff, but also moisturized and so well-taken care of. Some Gold Bond, followed by a couple of the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel and I'll be in menthol heaven all day. That Personna blade is still performing beautifully. Wishing everyone an awesome weekend in advance!
SE SOTD 4/16/15 Razor: Star SE Blade: GEM Carbon Brush: Strong Set Bowl: "No Name" gift from the better half, just because Soap: RazoRock XXX AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush Woo hoo! Tax Season is over! On to new things!!! Today was my first ever shave with a SE razor. This Star was a generous gift from @Omaney for me to try. I watched a few videos and read TSD posts about how to use these SE razors. I started by laying the head flat on my cheek and then raising it up only about 1/8 of an inch. I must say, for some reason, I found the very loud feedback strangely disturbing. As for the shave itself, it could be my bad technique, but the rough, tugging nature of the first WTG pass was equally disturbing. I tried diligently to keep the angle shallow and not drag the blade across my face. I gave it one-and-a-half uncomfortable passes before I gave up. I grabbed a DE razor at random (New Standard), slapped in a Voskhod (not even my favorite blade) and finished smoothly and peacefully. My face was a little pink and it still aches. I don't like giving up on something so easily, so if you've got some advice for this adventure, I'm open to suggestions.
April 16 Stirling Sheep facial soap Merkur 37C slant bar razor Feather blade (day 1) Kent BK8 silvertip badger brush D.R. Harris Almond shave cream & glycerin Two passes Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, & unrefined shea butter Just for something different, I shaved after work today (instead of before like I normally do) and used D.R. Harris Almond shave cream instead of Arko. I also used a smidge of castor oil as a PSO. I love the smell of this cream, and I had a nice shave. Based on my limited experience, I think Arko provides more protection and slickness than this cream. Back to Arko I go tomorrow! I hope you all are having a great week!
