I have to agree with both of you and Rod. When I face lather it seems better with cold water. With hot water it lathers better in the bowl. Go Figure.

Man oh man, did I ever get a freezing sensation from the Glacial Lemon Chill soap as well as tons of beautiful lather with that wonderful lemony scent. When I slapped on the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel it felt so bloody cold that it was almost painful! (in a good way, of course!)
Separation I used Seifenglatt Montpelier today and it is a great soap. I do notice, however, that for me B&M is better in post shave feel and slickness of the lather. It must be the combination of lanolin and shea butter. B&M is top shelf for me, and I with Seifenglatt just a notch below. It was an excellent shave overall, Cologne Russe is great with Montpelier's grapefruit notes. Der vorschlaghammer easily took down my stubble, leaving one weeper due to operator error. Otherwise my face feels smooth. Prep: Bulldog face wash Soap: Seifenglatt Montpelier Brush: HIS Razor: Der Vorschlaghammer Blade: voskhod AS: B&M Cologne Russe

Unfortunately none of the alcohol-based ones because they cannot be shipped to Canada. The law prohibits it. The witch hazel though is wonderful.

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bolzano (3) Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (7, 8, 9) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash Cologne: Velvet Mood (sample) Today I learned an important lesson: Do not try to go ATG on the upper lip with a Bolzano loaded in the Bamboozled RAKE. Everything else about the shave was wonderful - including the lather from my too-long neglected Coffee Jasmine puck - but the ATG pass produced a rather nasty little nick that is quite persistent. Three shaves, three examples of bloodshed on the upper lip. . . I may be slow on the uptake, but even I can figure that lesson out. BBS results mean I will easily have the luxury of giving that nick a day to heal, though.
04/17/2015 Razor – Mongoose B2 with Jürgen Hempel Ti Blade –Feather Pro (3) Brush –Rudy Vey with Shavemac Finest Lather – B&M Seville Post - Witch Hazel and Myrsol F/Extra All the stars aligned today for a fantastic work morning shave, very near a BBS. Since this is my first use of a B&M soap, I skipped any prep except for my morning shower. After blooming the soap, I whipped up a fantastic lather. Having noted that the soap could be thirsty, I added water to the brush as I face lathered. This is one seriously slick soap. In fact there was enough residual slickness to clean up the trouble areas with just water. The post shave feel was great and ended with just a splash of Witch Hazel followed by Myrsol F/Extra. The Myrsol had very little burn and left my face feeling great. What a nice way to finish off the week. Happy Friday everyone.
Arko April Focus - CJB Kamisori April 17, 2015 - Week 3 Day 6 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Arko Razor - CJB Blade - (6) Post - Alum, Clubman Kamisori style again with the CJB. One hand, one side of the blade only. A couple of minor nicks on the left cheek and next to the goatee line while positioning my hand right. Otherwise a very decent shave. Due to time constraints I finished the last pass with the SS and Bic and finished DFS. All in all a good morning with the CJB.
