1. Well, maybe for the US, but over here in Europe the winters have gradually been getting warmer and warmer.

When I was a little kid we nearly always had snow from november till march. Last year and this year combined we didn't have one full WEEK of snow. Three years ago we had a record-winter, okay, but the winters before that were also lousy...
  2. not just "US".....

"Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966."

All I know is I'm stocking up on hats just in case ;)(At least thats what I'm telling Lovie)
And also keeping the whisky supply up as well

  3. Its important to note that the people who are making the most noise about global warming are those organisations which get funding to fight environmental catastrophes. The British government has also realised they can make money through global warming are are introducing various climate taxes to tax the British people even further.
The earth has been always been either warming or cooling. In the past Vikings planted crops on Greenland. It was called Greenland because it was green. Was this because Viking longboats used dirty carbon producing engines or had heavy industry back home? Of course not. Were the forests of the World largely intact centuries ago? Yes, and yet the world was warmer than it is now.
Oceans, volcanos, leaves decomposing, cows farting all produce hugely more carbon and unpleasant gasses than Humans produce.
My personal view is that yes, it is important to look after the world and not make a mess. But, Humans have nothing to do with global warming.:angry021
  4. That's the spirit, Rick! :eatdrink047
  5. Global warming is all a red herring for the real enviromental concern of too many toxins in the atmosphere. Since moving to Korea, my Fiancee has had chronic sinusitis, and lung problems. The thick orange cloud covering Seoul, and the heavy metal laden dust blowing in from China have everything to do with this. More and more children are being diagnosed with asthma, and here in Korea it seems 1 in 5 have this mysterious skin condition that they call, in phonetic english from Korean, A-TOE-PEE.
Who cares about global warming, it is not the point, I'd love year round beach weather in Canada. The real problem is big industry thinking that the toxins they flush into the water and release into the air, goes, "AWAY."
  6. I work in the Environmental Science industry. It's very profitable for business owners. I'm just a lab rat who is going to college, but I still get amazed at the B.S. people buy into. Science can't even measure an accurate amount of rainfall on the earth, but it can tell you that your barbecue pit in your backyard is killing your neighbor. I decided to stock up on my whiskey too, thanks Rick.:D
  7. Hasn't the earth been warming since the ice age ?
  8. The Earth goes through cycles....... the way it always has and always will. We will live through it.
  9. We might not live through it. The cockroaches will though!
  10. I just saw on the news yesterday that scientists state that the sun is getting hotter and that the earth will burn up in 9billion years from now. they also said that the scientists were thinking about pulling an asteroid closer to the earth to pull the earths orbit further away from the sun so that does not happen. :happy102 hope I'm not around for that one chance attempt.
  11. Not to worry, the Earth has been doing this since it's creation. I think we will probably have another mini ice age starting. If things get too much for us, we'll start over again.... like we have at least 8 times before.
All this global warming stuff is bull. Go read what scientists are saying, not what politicians and media are saying. We are not going to burn up from global warming.
  12. Summers in Montreal have been getting to be almost as hot and humid as in South Florida, but not for as long, and not with such a powerful tropical sun like down there, although the summer sun here can be very strong, with high UV levels.
  13. Actually, there is a direct corolation between sunspot activity and a rise in earth's temperature. For the past ?? years, sunspot activity has been on the rise. However, it stopped for this (northern hemisphere) winter. the group of dutch scientists who have been tracking it are saying 15 years of cold are coming.

If we're lucky, this will shut up Al Gore and the UN from all thier global warming based schemes

  14. Yeah....
but can we revoke that Nobel Prize he swindled ??
