  3. Got this in the mail yesterday - my first haul! I just started wet shaving but I can feel the addiction already. I really like a lot of the vintage razors I see on here but figured I should start it with a new one. [IMG]

I actually got the brush around the first of the month. Here is a pic of all my stuff, mainly a bunch of samples at this point. My wife just shook her head when she caught me taking pics of my razor.

  5. Very good start. You've got some great stuff.

The addiction is very strong. Don't fight it.

  8. Welcome! Nice haul! What will happen over time is your wife will start to look for gear for you, may be it an aftershave, a cool mug, heck even a razor that's been in the family. The key is. When (and you will) start buying new razors make sure you buy a little something for your bride. Happy Shaving!

Nary a chip or crack, and the top and strainer look near new.

It's a bit hard to see, but imprinted in the bottom is, "King Research Inc." and "Glass made in CANADA".

Near the center are the numbers "64" but I don't know if that means anything.

Any ideas about the age of this?
    It looks near new. :)

  13. I bought one just like yours for $1 at a thrift store. Mine is missing the lid though, so I use it for a change jar

  16. My first bulk blade purchase... I know the Astra SP and the Gillette Silver Blue are equally good for me. Hopefully these are just as good.

  17. Not being familiar with these Astras I'd love to hear your comparison between them and the SPs

  18. You bet. Its been a couple weeks since I used the SP but have used the Gillette SBs (also a stainless blade) recently and like I mentioned, those two felt/worked the same for me. So I should be able to do a SOTD with the Astra SS tomorrow with confidence.
