Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point

Just beautiful! This Snake Razor - of which I just published a video about its making - is simply amazing. Impeccably honed by Mastro Livi, it delivers the best shave. Not just an incredible joy to see and to hold in your hands, but also an excellent performer in shaving. For the occasion, I wanted to use my beloved Floïd Blue aftershave, now unfortunately discontinued and this is not a good news.
    • Pre-Shave: Roberts Rose Distilled Water
    • Soap: Tabac
    • Brush: Omega Bristle 49 Red
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Floïd Blue

Well, for the first time ever I used a Stirling soap without any menthol and I can say I really enjoyed it a lot. The Barbershop requires some extra effort to get the lather going but that effort is well worth it. I enjoyed every minute of this shave and I turned out BBS very comfortably with an awesome old-school barbershop scent which goes very well with Brut aftershave and cologne. :) I'm gonna write a review of this soap soon.

Fantastic 2 pass BBS shave with the first pass ATG and then XTG followed up with a few touch ups. First time using the Tiki Cabenet Neroli. Love the scent and proved to be very easy to whip up a very slick and protective lather. Followed up with witch hazel and a splash of Myrsol Agua Limon.

Busy day writing my thesis yesterday kept me from posting, but not from shaving:

    Saturn's Day:
Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: Speick Cream
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (5)
    Passes: WTG, ATG (12, 13)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash
    Cologne: Silk Mood (sample)

It's just about impossible for me to get a bad shave with Speick. Even with a blade on its last legs, the Speick provided ample lift, cushion, and glide to get me DFS+ results. The AS proved to give good skincare afterwards, although I'm not sold on its combination with the Silk mood cologne sample. . . but its notes aren't my favorite to begin with.

    Sunday:
Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock Cumba Cheech croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech AS lotion
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

A fresh new blade in my RAKE and I was off to the races for my last day of serendipitous "bowl-lathering week." It took me an extra few seconds to figure out the water ratio for this to bowl lather, which is apparently different from the One-X. Once I did. . . Does anyone need any lather? I had plenty to share! ;) Three passes got me BBS results, though I was surprised to see a tiny weeper by the corner of my mouth. The Cumba Cheech lotion even absorbed, relatively, in my skin, which doesn't always happen. There may be much touching of the face today.

    Brush: oscar11 2-Band Finest-24mmx50mm

Reef Point Peerless today. This is my first shave with the RP Peerless. It is excellent! 20 seconds to load the oscar11 badtger. Great, easy, thick, lather. Gillette “Spoiler” still in the NEW SC. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with CC Sweet Water.

Prep: warm wash with Kirk's Castile soap
    Lather: Dusy Kabinett
    Brush: Omega 6214 silvertip
    Razor: Weber PH
    Blade: Merkur Super (2)
Post: cold rinse and Ogallala Bay Rum

2 passes and touch-up on jaw and neck leave my face smooth and whisker free. Tried face lathering with the badger brush and it did fine. I think that Dusy Kabinett would lather with a hair-brush and still provide a great shave.

The mid back is killing me, I need to move to Arizona. Shaving is as good of a treatment that I have had in the past few days.

The VDH line is what got me started and even tho I have tried a couple of soap samples I keep finding myself going back to VDH! Just such a nice, slick, easy lather. Haven't found anything comparable yet.
