Just finished a excellant shave. Each item in the lineup was perfect and perfectly complemented each other. I could have easily stopped after one pass but there was way too much lather to waste. Three full passes and a healthy dose of CC Lime with almost no burn, which usually the Captain offers. If you haven't tried CC Lime you should. It's got a great and complex scent that is not just lime but some spicey other notes that make it one of my faves.

Glad you mentioned it as I had forgot it was on my planned list. It is listed as an aftershave lotion and body cologne but it does not come across as heavily scented as their other edt (Royall Rugby). It does have a punjent lime kick to start but settles down quickly with an old spice kinda scent. I envision it similar to Old Spice Lime which I havent tried.

PS. My Golden Retriever just gave me a huge slobbery kiss so it must be good stuff.....or she's hungry. :chores016:

Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice 1973

First time out with this beautiful Dubl Duck, that was PIFed to me by Cudarunner from SRP. I was only going to to shave from my sideburn to my jaw line on my right side with my right hand. It went so well, no gushing blood, so I did the left side with my left hand. That went so well I did my neck on my left side. Looking good so let's see about it being easier to do your upper lip with a straight. Left hand right hand going easy trying to figure out the best approach. Not pushing my luck I stopped there and finished with my FB, and only needed 1 pass. The Maca Root was nice and slick which helped get a nice shave. I use both hands with my DE razors, and it actually seemed easier with the straight on my left side, go figure. One little weeper on my upper lip left side. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel, took care of the weeper. After cleanup some vintage OS. That was fun. I will do more tomorrow.

My first time ever use of a Schick injector

    Schick L5 "Revere"
    Schick plus platinum blade
    VDH Deluxe soap
    TGN Boar in Lucite

Wow! That was a comfortable shave! Head/blade just slid over my face with no worries about blade angle. I had to look to see if I was cutting anything. (I've tore my face up with the GEM SE and that was not an issue with today). Zero nicks, scrapes or stinging!

I'm very happy with my Schick purchase and it will be a regular.

PS. DE is still a favorite and a closer(smoother) faster shave for me.

I always use the same setup for photos... Towel on bed, get everything to stay balanced without falling, snap/crop/post. One of these days I'll get better backlit photos with these handles.

Razor: ATT H1 head w/MR1 handle
    Blade: Astra SP (new)
    Soap: Cella (from brick)
    Bowl: VDH
    Brush: VDH
    Post: Gentleman Jon Alum block

Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry, then apply the alum block

Razor: First try with the ATT H1 plate today! .See Comments.

Blade: It has been awhile since I used an Astra SP which is my go-to blade so I decided to use it today. Never an issue with them!

Soap: Cella sample from a brick I received awhile ago. I have used it quite a few times and it never lets me down when it comes to lathering or protection! Very good stuff

Comments: Shave was like Wow! I haven't used the H1 plate til today and all I can say is WOW. It going up against a two day growth as I didn't shave yesterday. The shave was very, very good, I managed to get a DFS in only two passes and almost no touch up. Dang close to a BBS everywhere, even on the neck area! One very small weeper as I was trying to get too cocky on my jawline it disappeared just as fast as it appeared. Very slight irritation felt in that same area from the Alum blocks feedback. Absolutely no complaints today as the H1 plate took off the two day growth like nobody's business! I got another great shave,

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out!

    Thx.

Arko April Focus - CJB Kamisori
    April 26, 2015 - Week 5 Day 1
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko
    Razor - CJB
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
Post - Cold towel, Alum, The Veg

Took the step up from the Kai Mild to the Feather Pro today. Just a few days left in the month so let's finish with the big dogs! I changed back from traditional kamisori style to using both hands and discovered that it is easier to get the blade in the right position now. My technique isn't just a two handed or a one handed kamisori but a combination of both. Looks like using both styles developed more skills than I expected. The Feather is incredibly sharp and the first pass produced just one very minor nick near the left beard line. Didn't notice it until I was lathering for the second pass. On the second pass I really felt the difference in my ability to go XTG by switching hands and grips. However, the Feather likes to teach lessons about technique as well. For instance, when making an XTG pass on the lower jaw make sure to continue the pass TOWARD the beard and don't stop short with a slight downward stroke of the razor. If you do that...........yes, @Darkbulb you'll enjoy this.....

You can see the very minor nick above the rather nasty looking slice. That is what it looked like after I finished the rest of the second pass. It isn't as bad as it looks once everything is all done.......

I did a bit of clean up on the neck with the SS/Super Max Platinum combo and felt the alum burn. Actually not too bad except in the area of mortal damage. Veg was a body splash today.

I'll continue with the Feather Pro through the last few days of working with the CJB. Getting the logistics of MAYhem worked out so will be starting that Friday. I have a feeling I'll be returning to straights in June at some level. Considering my options to further my skills (and collection) there as well.

    Prep: Hot shower, hair conditioner
    Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Stainless Steel (3)
    Brush: Omega 13109 Pure Badger
    Cream: eShave White Tea
Post: Cold rinse, Alum block, Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva Ice Sport

Really like the eShave cream. Good performance, scent and slickness. Read a few complaints about lack of protection, but it did just fine for me.
3 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG) + touch up around the chin and I'm out the door. :scared007:
