Arko April Focus - CJB Kamisori April 27, 2015 - Week 5 Day 2 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Arko Razor - CJB Blade - Post - Alum, Clubman Two passes today, no nicks etc., although I skirted the area of the slice from yesterday. Finished with a pass of the SS/SM Platinum to clean up and moved on to work. Alum was quieter by a slight bit and overall a nice shave. Used both hands again without consideration for which side of the blade. Just chose the grip and angle that worked. The Feather Pro actually feels quite smooth to me and the sharpness allows for less clean up where I have the technique more dialed in. One more day and then a couple of easy shave days leading to Friday.
Planned Tabac Tuesday SOTD Sonnal Nicplata slant razor Gillette spoiler blade Vintage bristle and badger mixed brush Tabac shave soap Groom Aftershave Tabac Eau de Cologne I look forward to Tuesdays more than any other day of the week. Tabac products are fantastic. Im just glad there is only one scent, otherwise I'd own even more stuff
SOTD 4-27-15 Razor: ATT H1 head w/MR1 handle Blade: Astra SP (2) Soap: Cella (sample from brick) Bowl: VDH Brush: Tweezerman Post: Gentleman Jon Alum block Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry, then apply the alum block Comments: For the second time trying out the H1 plate, again the shave was like Wow! It going up against only a one day growth. The shave was very, very good, I managed to get a DFS easily in only two passes and almost no touch up. Dang close to a BBS everywhere, even on the neck area! No weeper but a little irritation felt in the jaw line from the Alum blocks feedback. Absolutely no complaints today as the H1 plate but I can see where it might not be mild enough for everyday use. I used it yesterday and it took off the two day growth like nobody's business! Today I could feel the blade a bit more but I wanted to so I didn't change the soap or blade I used so I could see what it would feel like as a daily driver and at this point I have to say I am undecided in that regard. I did get another great shave with it but like I said, I could feel it more so more caution is needed if one plans on using it daily vs a growth of two or more days! Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Thx.

Tabacstag! Tabac and Sherlock make a great pair. The lather was near optimal, as usual, and my Aristocrat made short comfortable work of my stubble. My face feels smooth and I smell good. I enjoyed the Stirling Frozen Tundra again this morning - it really gave me lots of menthol chill with nice lather and post-shave care. The resulting shave was terrific.

Rod's new Glacial formula is very much improved. The lather forms much easier now and it's richer. He worked really hard to get it right and his efforts definitely paid off. I LOVE them.

TUESDAY Back-to-Work Day Had a chance to try out some RazoRock 'Sensitive Skin' shaving soap this iron. Like most RazoRock soaps, it lathered easily sand provided a good slick cushion.'Green Tea' is a subtle scent I didn't find displeasing. Overall, a very nice 3-pass shave with the Böhler! Have a great Tuesday, all!
Arko April Focus - CJB Kamisori April 28, 2015 - Week 5 Day 3 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Arko Razor - CJB Blade - (3) Post - Alum, Proraso Final day (for now) for the CJB and I finished with a decent day. The slice from Sunday opened just a bit when I went over that area with the blade but nothing serious at all. The rest of the shave was good. A couple of minor nicks on the neck. Still I feel that I gained a lot of proficiency with this razor and will definitely be back with it and a straight of some kind (likely kamisori) in June. Alum reminded me that I finished a little rough and the Proraso did its burn too but I'm awake and ready to go!
SOTD April 28............. Running a little late this morning but still had just enough time for a quick shave. Semogue 1438 w/Palmolive Stick (face lather) Schick G1 Injector w/Schick Blade (9) Osma Alum finished off with Ice Blue Aqua Velva Single pass CCS and off to work for the end of the month rush!
04/28/2015 Razor – Mongoose B2 Blade –Feather Super Pro (3) Brush –Rudy Vey with Shavemac Finest Lather – Soap Commander Confidence Post - Witch Hazel and Myrsol F/Extra Sample I have definitely found my blade of choice with the Mongoose. Fantastic 2 pass BBS shave this morning with only minor touch ups in my trouble areas. I have found the key for me with these blades is to start with the first pass ATG followed by a XTG pass and touch ups. Soap Commander Confidence soaped provided a slick and protective lather. Only 1 or 2 more shaves left in this tub. I will purchase other Soap Commander scents in the future. Followed up with witch hazel and Myrsol F/Extra from my sample pack.
