Razor: ATT H1 head w/MR1 handle
    Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (new)
Soap: The Willow Tree Soap Co. "Mediterranean Seas"
    Bowl: VDH
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Post: Gentleman Jon Alum block
Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry, then apply the alum block

Comments: Fourth time trying out the H1 plate, again the shave was very good despite the soap I used! I didn't quite manage to get a DFS, very close but not quite. I didnt feel the protection from the soap so I was very hesitant to hit the harder areas much and I ended up going a full three passes and skipped the touch up cause I could feel my face getting irritated, just like me! It seemed to lather okay but acted like it wanted to dissipate during the pass and rather quickly. I did a test lather prior to using it but didnt actually put it on my face to test it, I just lathered it up a couple of times to check it and see how much water I would need to get a good lather. No weeper but some irritation felt mostly in the neck area but some on the chin too from the Alum blocks feedback. I tried harder today to use even more light pressure and although I did, I ended up not trying to hard to get the DFS/dang close BBS shave as I have been getting as I just didnt feel that confident in the soap. In short lets just say the soap didnt work for me and I already pitched the soap and will reuse the wood bowl for something else, maybe some Cella! Absolutely no complaints with the H1 plate or the Platinum Lux blade and I dont think it would be a problem to use it daily. I could feel it more so more caution is needed if one plans on using it daily vs a growth of two or more days!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.

Last night decent but not great shave. It was my first shave with my newly arrived wilkinson sword classic razor.
    Here's the gear I used.

    Wilkinson sword classic razor.
    Wilkinson sword blade (1)
    Arko shave stick
    Omega 10049 boar brush.
    Gabel's Lilac aftershave
Aveeno Fragrance free after shave (lotion)

The shave was actually pretty good above the lip and on the cheeks, under the chin and the neck were just OK. I also felt a little minor irritation on my neck. An hour or so after the shave I threw on some gabel's sta-cool, the menthol in it took care of the irritation and all was well.

This razor is actually pretty mild so I was surprised by the small amount of irritation I did have. I haven't made any judgement yet regarding the razor, I have had several products that the first shave or two weren't great but then I got things dialed in and I ended up really liking them. I do like the looks of this razor and I will use it some more and see how it goes.

I also enjoyed getting a package labelled as being "delivered by royal mail". Royal mail sounds so much classier than United States Postal Service. It seems most things British have a classy ring to them.

    Planned Thursday SOTD
    [IMG]
    Merkur Futur (right handed)

    Polsilver SI blade (3)
    Vie Long horse hair brush
    Myrsol Emulsion pre shave
    HTGAM Gondolier shave soap
    Myrsol Agua Balsamica aftershave

The two Myrsol products were absolutely perfect this morning and I'm going back to them again tomorrow. The post shave feel is still great 11hrs later. I've been using pricey french soaps and cream lately and figured I better try something not on the top shelf for a change. I own four different HTGAM soaps and really enjoy them all for their ease of lather and nice strong scents.

Thursday morning will be an "Antique Shave" for me:

    Nivea Facial Wash
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/SuperMax Blue day 4
    Vintage Colgate Shaving Stick :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Booster Polar Ice AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    YSL Pour Homme EdT

Here's another fabulous ANCIENT stick which I purchased from a gentleman in Sweden, and it shows that there's nothing like the old-time stuff. A real nice stick which smells classy, clean, soapy, and manly with good lather and skincare. The Lubriderm is also a very soothing moisturizer which kills any dryness or irritation right away. Don't be fooled by the name because although the Polar Ice is its name, there's no cooling effect from it - but I still think it's a great aftershave. ;) :D
