So I had intended to buy a grey, eagled Eversharp "Krona". Normally this razor differs from a regular Schick "Krona" in that; - the handle is grey, - under the baseplate it says Eversharp and has an eagle-mark, and - the end of the razor sports an eagle mark as well. But, when I received mine today, which was odd already as it came in a Shick branded case - which the seller claimed was original to the razor - the mystery thickened as only two of the characteristics above are on this razor. The Schick case it arrived in: Complete with Schick branded blade case and instructions... It's not as black as a regular Schick Krona so [check one]. But why is it in a Schick labelled case? A mis-match? Maybe the owner was wrong about it being the original case? Looking under the baseplate, sorry for the crummy iPhone photo, it has the eagle stamp and "Eversharp" name: [check two]. But next it gets odd...looking at the end tip we see this: So....we have a razor with Eversharp name and eagle under the baseplate, with a Schick logo on the tip - in a Schick case. Is it just me or is this a tad odd?
Almost looks like it was put together during a transitional period. That may be one of a kind, or close to it
The first sign that you buy too many razors: Not know what razor you just bought. Someone needs to stage a shavervention.
Well, thing is I was pretty sure what I bought. I asked the seller if there was an eagle marking and the name Eversharp on the razor and she confirmed that. So I was pretty sure I was getting an Eversharp "Krona" in a mismatched case so that's what I bought. I thought. When it arrived the Schick-branded tip was a complete surprise = so now it's sort of..a....Schick-Eversharp grey eagle razor...
I know it's tacky to post a link to a different thread on a different forum, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Maybe this will help? I didn't read it all, but it seemed like there were gentleman there who knew what they were talking about. http://forum.shavemyface.com/viewtopic.php?t=38686
Lots of injectors were labeled with both names on them so maybe they didn't worry too much about mixing the brands? I seem to remember hearing that Eversharp found the Schick name sold better so maybe including it was an attempt to boost sales?
Well, I guess I will treasure it as a somewhat rare oddity. The real test will of course be how it actually shaves
In 1969, Eversharp sold the Schick Safety Razor Company to Warner Lambert Company so they must had heads that were stamped Eversharp with the grey handles but placed the Schick logo on the base of the turn knob for the remaining units.
Well actually the only real change is in the twist knob so little will be affected shave wise. The Eversharp Eagles handled and shave slightly (I mean slightly) different from what I have experienced from my standard Kronas.
attitude attitude attitude. spare parts gets nada super rare transition example is one in hundreds of thousands?
