5/4/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Schick Eversharp, Friodur INOX straight razor
Blade: Personna (2)
Brush: Turkish #6
Soap: Stirling - Frozen Tundra
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

What a nice and cold shave! The stars must have been in alignment this morning. The #6 brush whipped the Frozen Tundra into a great lather. The Friodur and the Schick did a great job. The Osage Rub brought the arctic chill and the Prada will have me smelling great all day. All in all it was a Darn Fine Shave +.

Fantastic near BBS 2 pass shave this morning. The B&M Latha is very easy to lather and I find it to be very slick. The scent is ok at best but for me a good thing that the scent is gone by the time I am finished lathering. The Myrsol Blue finished up with a nice scent and great post shave feel.

Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point​

It is always such an immense pleasure traveling with a Mastro Livi razor, something you can always trust in order to have an impeccable shave. This time it is even better because I brought with me my latest Mastro Livi razor, this incredibly beautiful CarboInox Snake Razor. I am enjoying it more and more at each shave, a wonderful masterpiece to see, yet another impeccable proof of Mastro Livi talent and craftsmanship. I also finally managed to get a small bottle of N°4711 Original Eau De Cologne After Shave and I thought there would have not been a better occasion than this one to use it. I have always loved Eau De Cologne fragrance and in particular N°4711, in my opinion the finest of them all.​

Switched to the Feather this morning, which is my first experience with them. I also skipped the Menthol Monday as I have been saving my favorite Musco Real Classic for my day off, and that just happened to fall on Monday. Everything came together for a great near BBS shave this morning. I got to take my time and enjoy it, which has been unusual for the past three weeks or so. The best part was I got to shave with my little boy. We hadn't done that in several weeks; I sure hope he is building the same memories as I am on these shaves. It just makes everything perfect!

Funny thing: I started out using the short handled DE razors, and after using the longer handled RAKE, I find the short handles slightly harder to maneuver when going ATG than they were before. Good lather and prep, with a blade that I don't think is defective, but I still got weepers on the ATG pass due to fiddling with the angle. BBS results otherwise, though.

Menthol Monday

Used a Wilkinson Sword blade and DR HARRIS soap for the first time for a long time. And both products proved to be way better than i remember them being and proved to be the key to a great shave today.

If the Windsor soap smells anything like their EdT that must be one nice smelling shave.

 

Funny you say that. I was just thinking today if their Aftershave smells anything as great as the soap, it could be worth saving up for.
It was a lovely smelling shave.
