    Planned Bay Rum Wednesday SOTD
    [IMG]
    48' Aristocrat razor
    Treet Platinum blade
    Vie-Long horse hair brush
Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage & Cedar shave stick
Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns aftershave skin toner
    HTGAM Bay Rum Aftershave Cologne

I have totally ignored my bay rum products lately and I was feeling guilty. Ogallala shave sticks are lather machines and the scent of the soap and aftershave are not only unique but complex. The HTGAM bay rum cologne is in your face clovey burn, which I really dig.

I am fighting the urge to shave right now before bed, I love this stuff so much.

    6/8 DD Satin Edge
    Maca Root SC
homemade badger, Shavemac finest ST knot
This is the first time I've tried Maca Root Shaving Cream and it performed nicely. I received a sample of the cream when I purchased The Body Shop synthetic brush. Nice shave today, have a good one.

    5/6/15

    Prep: warm wash
    Lather: Dusy Kabinett
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M horsehair
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Rapira Lux (4)
    Post: Old Spice Pure Sport

Face lathered the DK with the horsehair brush and it worked well. 2 pass shave with a touch up on my neck and a DFS came about. I set a 5 minute timer for brush soaking in the old Seaforth mug and the rest of the lather/shave/clean up took 8 minutes. I didn't use the vintage cologne pictured here because it is a touch harsh.[IMG]

Although I got a great shave with the Cryogen soap and it froze my face off mega-time I don't enjoy it as much as my Glacials. The menthol effect is indeed stronger, but not by a lot. It also requires a lot of re-wetting the brush because of its consistency and the Glacials have better blade glide and skincare. It still is a pretty satisfying soap.

The last few days using La Toja shave stick have given good, but not exceptional shaves. I believe the issue is that the La Toja does not provide the amount of cushioning to which I am accustomed. Today I loaded my brush with some unscented MDC and loaded my face with La Toja. This resulted in an extremely cushioned shave that had 0% irritation, unlike the last few days. 3 passes and very smooth.

La Toja Stick w/ unscented MDC
    Ladas Blade
