Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Tweezerman Badger
Soap - Williams (Better......better)Mug Shaving Soap
    Razor - Soyuz 1
Blade - [IMG]Post - Alum, Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm

Final opportunity for the 7 a.m. during MAYhem. I reloaded the Soyuz in spite of its nasty performance two days ago but focused on blade alignment. Definitely got it straightened out. Not perfect but this razor doesn't have a perfect that I can find. The first stroke proved my theory that it was alignment that caused most of the issue before. The shave itself proved again that the two edges are different in sharpness and that the entire blade is rather dull and uneven. Not a quality product. However, I was able to finish with a very nice CCS. In the milder Soyuz it just couldn't muster a DFS as it can in the more aggressive Rapira. I can live with the shave I got for the day and.....no blood.

The Williams did respond again to lots of water with a damp brush. Two days in a row of a persistent, though thin, lather. We'll call it a good day!

    Tomorrow.....the Baili Super Blue.

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: Schick Eversharp, Hamburg Concave Quick Cutter straight razor
    Blade: Personna (5)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: Chiseled Face - Cryogen
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense

It is going to be 85 degrees today. So, I decided to give the Cryogen a try. The Cryogen was whipped into a nice lather by the Vie Long Brush. The soap seems to be a little thirsty to me. The room filled with the scent of the menthol. While lathering up I did not feel the menthol right away, but by the time the first pass was done my chin was almost numb. The second pass was like being outside shoveling snow and then rubbing an ice cube on your face. The Quick Cutter and the Schick did their jobs very well. The cold feeling began to dissipate with the rinse off. When I put the ASB on the cold feeling came back again. That has never happened to me before. After the ASB dried, I move on to the Osage Rub AS. The Osage Rub AS kept that cold feeling going for at least 20 minutes. All things considered, this was a very cold and comfortable Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Last week I won a PIF from @Redrock . Part of this was a jar of TOBS Almond. TOBS Almond was the first cream I tried when I first started wet shaving. The scent is magnificent, it lathers easily, and provides decent cushioning. 3 passes, smooth and almost irritation free.

    THURSDAY
Cold-water shave—as always—but this is after a cold-water shower! Our hot water heater malfunctioned last night so we are awaiting a service call for Sears. In the meantime, no hot water. Good thing I'm acclimated to cold water shaves! The cold shower I'm not ready for as a pre-shave treatment. :smiley freezing: Still one nice thing about the morning was the lovely 3-pass shave!
    Have a great Thursday, everyone!

Thursdays and Fridays are my off days. So they are going to be my SE Days.

Second shave with an SE and really enjoyed it. My first was with a GEM Pushbutton last week and shaved with it like a DE. A few bleeders. Not a good shave and hurried through it. Also used a CVS blade.
I hand stopped the blade today and took my time. Used a better angle. Didn't go ATG in the sensitive areas. But figure that will come. :). DFS!!

Thanks Roger. This morning when I lathered up the aroma reminded me of Peach and Pistachio Ice Cream which is good as I like both of these in the summer. I picked up the Simpson in a trade of 3 SV products; two soaps and one of the AS for the brush and the extra density and lower loft of this chubby makes it the best synthetic that I have and I own 9 synthetics.

Soap: I used a Frankescent from various Stirling lathers/suds that I put in a wooden bowl on my XTG pass. The scents were Texas on Fire, Frozen Tundra, Glacial Wintergreen, Vanilla Sandalwood, Barbershop, Nag Champa, and Ozark Mountain -- surprisingly nice scent and while it was "cool" it definitely wasn't cold. I used Proraso Red cream on my ATG pass.

Razor: Same R-89 with a Super Max Tiger Platinum blade (I wonder how long this blade will last, but it still doesn't compare to the Super Iridium blades for me).

Post: Rose Witchazel, Osage Rub, Aqua Velva Ice Blue, then followed up with some Stetson after all that dried.

    Cologne: Aqua Di Gio

Ruff shave this morning: I got my face BBS but not without a few weepers. I even managed to nick myself below my ear and behind and below my jawline by not keeping control over my instrument of face destruction. I wasn't even trying to shave there. Lesson learned to maintain control. While my shave was ruff, the Osage Rub and Aqua Velva didn't burn as bad as I thought it would.

Still on the Road with a Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake Razor

Still on the road and still having the pleasure of shaving with this amazing Mastro Livi Snake Razor. It delivers an incredibly deep and smooth shave, not to mention the joy it gives to the eyes when you look at it. Despite of its size, this Snake Razor has a perfect balance - perfectly centered in your hands - it is very easy and comfortable to use. This shave was also a new occasion to test my newest Thyrrenus aftershave: very refreshing on the skin, just like a fragrant summer breeze.
    • Pre-Shave: Roberts Distilled Rose Water
    • Soap: Negozio Leggero Hazelnut and Lavender
    • Brush: Omega 48

    • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox Snake, 8/8 Full Hollow, Snake Point

    Yesterday's Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original face wash, sandalwood bar soap

    Soap/cream- VITOS Sapone per barba

    Brush- Plisson synthetic

Razor- Weber polished head all stainless steel

    Blade- Astra SP(2)

Post- Cold water rinse, Aqua velva ice blue aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

First time with Vitos. I got a very nice lather. But my face was a little bumpy, so I got a mediocre shave.

A nice mild icy finish with the AV!

I only make 2 passes. I find I get close enough with that. Sometime I need some touch up. Usually on the places where my facial hair is coarser.

    Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Soap: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton Cologne Frosted Glass 1960

Another special day! My mom just turned 90, and she is going to renew her Drivers License today. Wow, she is still a go getter. Special days call for special razors, and to me the toggle is as special as it gets. I believe I'm the only one to have ever shaved with it and It is by far the best shaving razor I have ever used. Two no pressure passes WTG XTG on 5 and one ATG on my neck on 3 with only a slight touchup around the scar on the right side of my neck. Very close, very smooth, no burn shave. The Castle Forbes played a role, as it gives a great slick cushion. Cucumber WH felt good, and after cleanup some JB gel, and Vintage OS Lime. A great shave for a great day!

Fourth shave with a Weber this week - and the first using the Bulldog handle.
I really, really like the Weber head - it gives a very close and clean shave w/in two passes and with little to no effort.

I do think I prefer the Wave/Bamboo handle over the Bulldog (even though the Bulldog handle is still great) but a great shave was had today.

Also tried Myrsol Emulsion for the first time today and found it to be as excellent as all other Myrsol products I've tried - a keeper in my den!

Razor: Weber PH w/ Bulldog handle
    Blade: Ladas
    Brush: L'Occitane Plisson
    Soap: Cella
    A/S: Myrsol Emulsion
    Body Splash: The Veg
