I picked this up at a local antique mall. The label is missing the first letter or two of the name, all I can make out is ELTH. Above and below the name it reads Pure Bristle and Made in Germany.

It appears to wood with a clear brown on top with some grain showing through, a hand painted black band, and a cream painted base.

The knot seems to be excellent condition, so I'll be using it soon.

So does anybody have clue who made this and approx. when?

Sorry no idea. But that is gorgeous, congrats on the score. Looks like a good knot in it too. Let us know how it goes.

White, that's really nice for a "wild" find!

There are many low level brush makers in Germany using wooden handles and boar bristles under different names to know much about it. These have been common in Germany for years.

Enjoy the brush but these have no ready to obtain pedigree.

Thanks for the info, I plan to. It does have a couple of chips in the finish, so knowing it's basically a generic brush I won't feel to bad if have to repaint it someday.
