Down in Florida again, this time for the first week of my new job. Figured this made a nice picture. The ocean is as calm as I've seen it in a long time. Coincidentally, it's now the same temperature here in Pompano Beach as it is back home today in Michigan. But the view here is nicer.

Great shave this morning. With my coconut oil pre-shave routine, the seaweed soap, and the orange blossom cologne, I'm feeling very tropical and relaxed. Shaved the head, but letting the beard grow out. Might go get another bottle of Florida Water tonight to bring home, now that I know where to find it here.

Later, it will be time to break out the spiced rum, pineapple juice and creme de coconut -- a little "booze in the blender" to help pass the time here in Margaritaville. (Yes, I know, it's not tequila. So the Margaritaville image isn't entirely complete).

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday as well!

Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Alt-Innsbruck

I played a Mayhem card and switched up my brush and soap for the day. If someone truly wants to save money and get a fantastic wet shave, I highly recommend the Arko and the Omega Pro 98. My beautiful Bride, I, and another couple plan to explore a local winery and enjoy some live music on this fine afternoon.

    Enjoy your Saturday!

Thanks, I like it as well. I think it has an attractive traditional shape which is very functional as well. The brush handle is available with several different knots so I may end up buying the synthetic HI-BRUSH version.

Gillette Ball End Tech NDC (declared 1947) Birth Year
Brush: Vintage Ever-Ready 300L with TGN Silvertip 18/51
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice

Day 4 with the Dubl Duck. Lathered up the Castle with the Silvertip. Spent extra time hydrating my beard, so I could try to get closer with the Duck. Started like my last shave going from my sideburn to my jaw line on my right side, and my left side with my left hand. That went so well I did my neck on my left side. Looking good, so left hand right hand going easy trying to figure out the best approach. Getting better and a little closer. Not pushing my luck I stopped there and finished with my Tech, and only needed 1 pass. Still working all the angles, but getting better. The videos are helping me get the angles better. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some vintage OS. Y'all have a good one.

    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
    Brush: Omega 13109 Pure Badger
    Cream: Jack Black Supreme Cream

Beautiful day today. Had this sample of Jack Black for awhile and I thought I'd try it out. The smell is ok, but I like the protection and extra slick film it leaves behind to do little touch ups. Today I did 3 passes and tried some new angles that worked out great around my neck area. :)

    Have a wonderful weekend! :eatdrink047:

Razor: ATT H1 plate with MR1 handle
    Blade: Astra SP (new)
Soap: The Shave Den (TSD) Signature scent
    Bowl: VDH
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Post: Gentleman Jon Alum block

Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry, then apply the alum block

Razor: I used the H1 again and really liking it! It is some what aggressive but also smooth and easy enough to use!

Blade: This is a very good blade and one of my main go-to's so no issues at all! However I am starting to think the Platinum Lux's are better than the Astra SP's, for me anyway!

Soap: I like this TSD soap, it gives me a great lather and protection for my shave. Today was no exception on my two pass shave with some touch. No issues at all with it!

Comments: Shave was very good and very close, I get a DFS each time with the H1. One tiny weeper or very slight irritation based on the Alum block. Overall another great shave today!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

Thx. and sorry no pic today as camera is acting up again!

    Old Spice Coffee Mug.
The Frank Shave Brush handle had some problems when I received it. I had to sand and polyurethane it. It is a pretty good brush has a solid backbone and is a little scratch, but not enough to worry about. It does hold a good lather, however, it takes a little longer to load. All in all it is a good brush, and is a brush I will keep on using. Gillette SS is an outstanding razor and always leaves me with the same problem I have with older Gillette's? Is this one better than the last one, or is the next one going to be better than the first two... I get really confused here. Older Gillette's are just "OUTSTANGING" razors. A new Platinum blade worked perfectly and the Lucky Tiger A/S is outstanding. Three passes and a clean up.

Here's another mega-freezing selection to bring relief from hot, humid weather. The Glacial Spearmint soap has such a delicious scent - real and pure spearmint oil. Lather this stuff up and within seconds the menthol sensation grabs a powerful hold of you, and it doesn't let go until hours after your shave is done. The Gold Bond moisturizer keeps that freeze going for even longer, and the Penguin prolongs it even more with a menthol slug of its own. My SuperMax Blue promised me one last good shave! ;) :D

Awesome shave today. 2 passes, WTG & ATG to a smooth DFS. I think I've found a technique for ATG that may lead to less irritation. Grain on my neck and under my jaw runs from chin out. If I start ATG near the chin and cut just a little section at a time and work my way out, blades seem to catch and tug less.
