Razor: ATT H1 plate with MR1 handle
    Blade: Astra SP (new)
Soap: The Shave Den (TSD) Signature scent
    Bowl: VDH
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Post: Gentleman Jon Alum block

Preshave was just face wash with warm water and post shave was rinse with warm water then some cold water splashes and pat dry, then apply the alum block

Razor: I used the H1 again and really liking it! It is some what aggressive but also smooth and easy enough to use!

Blade: This is a very good blade and one of my main go-to's so no issues at all! However I am starting to think the Platinum Lux's are better than the Astra SP's, for me anyway!

Soap: I like this TSD soap, it gives me a great lather and protection for my shave. Today was no exception on my two pass shave with some touch. No issues at all with it!

Comments: Shave was very good and very close, I get a DFS each time with the H1. One tiny weeper or very slight irritation based on the Alum block. Overall another great shave today!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

Thx. and sorry no pic today as camera is acting up again!

    Old Spice Coffee Mug.
The Frank Shave Brush handle had some problems when I received it. I had to sand and polyurethane it. It is a pretty good brush has a solid backbone and is a little scratch, but not enough to worry about. It does hold a good lather, however, it takes a little longer to load. All in all it is a good brush, and is a brush I will keep on using. Gillette SS is an outstanding razor and always leaves me with the same problem I have with older Gillette's? Is this one better than the last one, or is the next one going to be better than the first two... I get really confused here. Older Gillette's are just "OUTSTANGING" razors. A new Platinum blade worked perfectly and the Lucky Tiger A/S is outstanding. Three passes and a clean up.

Here's another mega-freezing selection to bring relief from hot, humid weather. The Glacial Spearmint soap has such a delicious scent - real and pure spearmint oil. Lather this stuff up and within seconds the menthol sensation grabs a powerful hold of you, and it doesn't let go until hours after your shave is done. The Gold Bond moisturizer keeps that freeze going for even longer, and the Penguin prolongs it even more with a menthol slug of its own. My SuperMax Blue promised me one last good shave! ;) :D

The TOBS St. James Collection Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #8 Pure Badger brush. Two passes with my Dad's Schick E3 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barbasol Brisk after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Awesome shave today. 2 passes, WTG & ATG to a smooth DFS. I think I've found a technique for ATG that may lead to less irritation. Grain on my neck and under my jaw runs from chin out. If I start ATG near the chin and cut just a little section at a time and work my way out, blades seem to catch and tug less.

Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Tweezerman Badger
Soap - Williams (As good as it's going to get)Mug Shaving Soap
    Razor - Rapira
    Blade - [IMG] Baili back.jpg (2)
Post - Alum, Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm.

Thought I'd share a picture of the back of the blade wrapper for the Baili. Notice the slogan.....Get Baili - Get Perfect. Perfect what? Certainly not shaves. Oh wait, perfectly dull hunks of steel? That works. Perfectly useless imitation blade? That seems about right. Perfect wasted attempt to shave? Yep, even better. Did I mention this blade SUCKS?!?!?!?!?! Yes, it really does. I had heard that this blade is truly on the horrible list and thought maybe some people just hadn't worked with it to figure it out. There is no figuring it out. In the milder Soyuz it barely shaved but pulled and tugged like crazy. In the Rapira it did the same thing, it just made more noise doing it since it's more aggressive. I did one pass on the right side of my face and neck, checked the result, said a few bad words and picked up my Aristocrat and Voskhod and finished shaving. It's that bad. I'm not sure you could cut your wrists with this thing. I think we could issue it to prisoners and not worry about them hurting anyone with it. Decoy blades for those who want to try to hurt someone. I'm not even going to waste my time with it on a third day. Done, finiti, over. Now, I will revisit it in a week or so during the Mercy round to see if a good razor and setup can rescue it. I'm not optimistic. This may be the defective tool @GDCarrington warns us about. This may have been the only blade available upriver in Apocalypse now. If so, it definitely explains what happened to Colonel Kurtz.....the horror.....the horror.....

On the plus side the Williams has become consistent for me, or perhaps I've learned to get consistent with it. Three days in a row of a persistent lather. It's thin but it does provide slickness and enough durability to last a shave.

    Brush: Baxter of California Silvertip
    Razor: Mühle R106 (safety bar)

Had a day off today so I took the time to make a very nice three-pass BBS shave. I really enjoy using the big Baxter silvertip. The Mühle razors are really good too, but I think I prefer the Edwin Jagger head a bit more. Some people say they are same but there seems to be a slight difference to me. The Edwin Jagger head seems to be just a bit smoother. Both are great though. I think the Feather blade was on shave #4 so it was a bit tired. Finished up with good old BRUT which, if I am not mistaken, stands for "Burns Right Until Tomorrow"! :lyrtuy5: Anyway, I like the smell and it lasts all day.

    Cheers everyone, Lyndon

A most delightful shave with my Glacial Spearmint soap - the scent filled the bathroom and the menthol sensation actually gave the Chiseled Face Cryogen some stiff competition. I swear, Rod increased the amount of menthol in these new Glacials (God bless him!) because I've never felt them being this intense before.

    Happy Mothers Day! :)
