I got to try my "new" Fatboy this morning. I set it on 6 to compare to my slim. It seems a tad more agressive on 6 than the Slim on 6. With a slight angle adjustment, I got an excellent shave: smooth, close, and nick free! I am going to like the Fatboy! Thanks again David!
It certainly is a beautiful razor. I may try one someday if the price ever comes back down to near normal. Happy Shaving to you Bob!!

I just got mine back from being re-plated and I didn't realize how much I really missed it. The emporium did a very nice job on yours. Looks great!
I just got mine back from Razor Emporium and they did a magnificent job. They fixed the stuck door problem and they cleaned it up beautifully. I almost don't want to use it, it's so nice as is (lol). I have a nice vintage case and blades for it. I may eventually use it. I have used the slim adjustable that I won on this site and it gives a nice smooth shave set on number 5 for me. The Black Beauty is another wonderful Gillette razor I'm lucky that I have two, one in chrome and the other in gold plate and they are also smooth shavers. Give them a try they are great.
Well, my 2nd shave was as good or better than the 1st. It is very easy to adjust to the different angle. The FB on 6 is definitely more aggressive than the Slim on 6. It gave me a superb shave. I may have already found my setting for it.
That is a beautiful razor! My fat boy is definitely one of my favorite shavers! I use mine on 9 and get smooth, nick free shaves every time. I never have cared for my slim much. I rarely have a good shave with it.
Well, I have tried four different blades now for four shaves each: Personna Med Prep, Gillette Platinum, and Rapira Platinum Lux. I got excellent shaves with each. Set on 6, this Fatboy gives up very smooth, close shaves! In this razor, I like the Gillette Platinum best, followed by the Rapira Platinum Lux, and the Personna Med Prep. All these are in my Top 5 blades. Today's shave.
Beautiful razor! I have found that I get the best shaves from my Fatboy set on 9 for the first pass, then 7 for the rest. Maybe the extra blade exposure makes me more careful because I seem to unconsciously apply more pressure when I used it on 4-5 or lower.
