Tyr's Day: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint glycerin soap Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC Blade: Bic (3) Passes: WTG, XTG (7, 8) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry Finally felt steady enough to get a sharp blade against my face after 3 days, even if I wasn't quite confident enough to go for the ATG pass. The prep did a good job softening what was - for me - considerable stubble, which the Ginger's Garden Grapefruit Mint lofted very well to allow for easy shaving. The Bamboozled RAKE definitely made its presence felt on the first pass, but there was no tugging or bloodshed, just the obvious difference of shaving with longer growth. Two passes produced DFS+ results, and I feel (and smell) much better for it.
Last night I tried the wilkinson sword classic razor again. The result- again I had an OK shave which is a step down from the usual. I typically can get a DFS or at worse a CCS, with this razor ok seems about the kindest thing I can say about the results I get with it. I have tried a variety of blades to no avail. So here is last nights set up. -wilkinson sword classic razor. -baili platinum blade (1) -stephan stay smooth brushless cream. -clubman aftershave. I cracked open a fresh bottle of clubman so at least the pleasant smell distracted me a little from the so so shave. Well the good news with shaving is I'll get another opportunity tonight. I think I'll take a break from the wilkinson sword razor.
MAYhem & Mercy May 12, 2015 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Tweezerman Badger Soap - Williams Mug Shave Soap Razor - Soyuz 1 Blade - (2) Post - Alum, Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm Day two of the almighty Sharp. Had about 26 hours of growth so a better test. The only thing I can really say is I have to pass it...I was able to achieve a CCS. If I had to go to work today I could go and not look bad. That's about it. It's dull, draggy, though not nearly as bad as the Baili, and just a lot more work than the shave is really worth. I did three full passes including ATG on my face which I rarely have to do plus some major touch ups on the neck. All of that plus one nick for CCS? Nope, never going to consider it a rotation blade. EVER! Tomorrow is the last day for the Sharp on the schedule and I'm going to stick with it but in the Rapira. Let's see what a more aggressive razor will do with it. Heck, I'm not scared . Besides, I"m getting great sympathy from SWMBO at this point...she thinks I'm a bit mentally unstable so she's being very nice to me. Or she's a bit worried. Every time I smell Williams my eye starts twitching.
Morris & Forndran L7 Blue/Blonde Badger Tabac soap F1 Gillette Adjustable (Fat Boy) NOS Personna Super Stainless made in Great Britain version Alt Innsbruk These blades, both the G.B. version and the more colorful U.S.A. ones are really really top-notch performers. Gary tells me they are the precursor to the P 74s. The Tabac giving forth a thick, slick lather with that uber masculine scent (IMHO) 3 smooth, bloodless, heavenly passes to shaving Nirvana with the Alt Innsbruk officially ordaining a type of sainthood on the experience.

I was traveling for work and forget my friggin' brush. I tried a couple ways to lather the Stirling Glastonbury sample using only my hands but came up short. I did ok on the WTG and XTG passes and didn't nick myself anywhere on my face or neck. For ATG, I poured water on my puck, then ran my finger around on it to create a balm/lotion consistency, which I used that for my final pass. It was slick but not any cushion to speak of - it got the job done. I got my cheeks BBS, lips chin to DFS, and left my neck at CCS. I think it is a testament to the slickness of Stirling soaps, as well as a testament to my idiocy for forgetting my brush! Soap: Stirling Glastonbury Razor: R-89 with Super Iridium Blade Post: Lavender Witchazel, Cocoa Butter Lotion, then some Pinaud Clubman Cologne: Versace Eua Fraiche Late post. Shave was actually late last night. I've been traveling today.

I shot the front sight off my daily driver at the range yesterday. Got lucky, Eddie had a replacement and did the work while I waited. Great guy, and we had time to catchup on our old competition days and the folks we shot with. Bach to the shave. Whipped up the Maca Root in my favorite mug with my Silvertip. The FB made fast work and sang a nice toon with a Feather blade. WTG on my face and neck on 5. Nice and slick for a quick shave. Great cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing Nivea. After cleanup some vintage OS from 1960s. Off the the range, with my baby. Have a good one y'al.

I am on a 30 day specific shave den, the products you see in the SOTD photo. So far, in 21 shaves, I have used 63 grams of soap, equalling 3g/shave.
I shaved my head with Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill. My grandson watched me during the entire time, he kept asking me was it "hot"? So I let him smell the brush, still kept asking was it hot? Finally it dawned on my why I kept saying ooh aah ooh aah ooh aah! It's not hot. It's freezing cold! And I love it! Thank you Jeff @crackstar if it hadn't been for you I would've never bought this soap.
