Thursday's Dove Men Face Wash Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap Jayaruh #8 Pure Badger Dad's Schick E3 Personna Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Barbasol Brisk The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #8 Pure Badger brush. Two passes with my Dad's Schick E3 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barbasol Brisk after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Let's see now.....which soap for Thursday? Ok, here are my shaving plans: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Dorco day 4 Stirling Frozen Tundra SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Aramis EdT Oh man, this is getting to be something else - ever since I bought a big bunch of these Stirling soaps, they're just about all I've been shaving with for the past couple of weeks. This Frozen Tundra is awesome. It has a great scent which I find unique in some ways. It seems to be a blend of wintergreen with peppermint, and some other notes which I can't really describe. It takes a bit of effort to get the lather the way I want it, but I'm patient with it and I know how to make it rich and thick. It has a tremendous amount of menthol which hits hard, and the skincare is moisturizing and very, very soothing. The Gold Bond and the Rubby Dubby Doo need no explanation. (I love them both!) When I finish these Dorco blades I'll never buy them again.
Thanks, I really like it. That is my #8. Friday, I will be replacing it with my #6, in the avatar, for a couple of weeks. I've just quit using store-bought brushes.
I can see why you wouldn't purchase store bought brushes any more. You are really perfecting your craft. Good job.
I've been told that when your chemistry lends well with a scent that you can't smell it after the first little while. that doesn't mean other around you can't smell it. I'd ask someone a few hours later, if they can. that's only what I've heard, it could be bunk.

MAYhem & Mercy May 13, 2015 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Tweezerman Badger Soap - Williams (Am I done yet?) Mug Shave Soap Razor - Rapira Blade - (3) Let's say goodbye to the Sharp. Another fine example of why Bangladesh is not known for precision steel work. The 7 a.m. performed slightly better getting a barely DFS with the Rapira, but it also nicked a bit. The Sharp didn't manage a nick, but never managed more than a CCS. I'd say a tie between those two. Again, no way will this blade become a rotation blade. Just too dull and difficult. The Rapira did improve the results somewhat due to its aggressiveness but I paid in irritation both on my face and in my head. Williams......enough said. Three days to ANYTHING else. Tomorrow.....heads up @Keithmax...the Flying Eagle gets its three days in the spotlight. Although if it's as bad as it's advertised it may not last three days. It will be featured in the Soyuz 1 tomorrow and we'll go from there. Hope you all had a good Wednesday. Oh, for those keeping score, we have three blades that have passed the MAYhem setup...the Zaza, 7 a.m. and Sharp. I'd rate them in that order as well. The miserable Baili Blue failed and will be in the running for worst blade of MAYhem. Of course they all get a chance to redeem themselves in the Mercy round. Slight change of plans for that round but I'll get to that in a day or two.
