Mastro Livi RWL34, 9/8 Full Hollow, French Point

Mastro Livi shave is always a luxury shave. I am very fond of this RWL34 straight razor, to me one of the very best stainless steels for making razors. It has the right aggressiveness while providing a wonderful close and deep shave, requiring the lightest hand. I also like this French point, a very effective style in some spots of the face. The whole shave has been done with Simpsons shaving products: not so bad, in particular the shaving cream.
    • Pre-Shave: Simpsons Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: Simpsons Luxury Shaving Cream
    • Brush: Voigt & Cop - High Mountain White Badger - Maple Burl - 24 mm knot
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 9/8 Full Hollow, French Point
    • Post-Shave: Alum Block
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: Simpsons Aftershave Balm

This is one great shaver. Really enjoyed it. Better, to me, than the 1912 and 1914.

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (5, 6)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Great shave this AM with most of my top-performing products. I did manage to get a small weeper by my Adam's Apple on the first pass, which I choose to attribute to the fog this persistent cold has put my head in. Otherwise, two passes produced DFS results without any discomfort.

    Sunday Smooth
My first try of CBTSM and I'm impressed. I put a little water on the overstuffed jar while I showered. Let me say that anyone worried about the price for Catie's, and I was one, can relax... The jar says 8oz, but I bet it's nearer to nine, and it takes so little to lather that this will last a long time - it's a great value. Unlike some that charge thirty bucks for 3.18 oz.
Anyway, The Colonel had no trouble making slick thick lather - I started dry and added water slowly. The scent is aquatic as advertised, and it seems to last a while after shaving, too. I found that Maggard's London Barbershop or Aqua Velva Ice Sport match quite nicely.
When I have two days stubble I reach for der vorschlaghammer, ok I reach for it almost all the time . But it really showed off today leaving my face smooth and comfortable with one weeper because I accidentally decapitated a zit. My face feels great and I smell great. Ready for church and a prayer walk after.
Prep: warm shower, Mickey Lee lime
    Soap: Catie's Bubbles Shave Market
    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: der vorschlaghammer
    Blade: voskhod
    AS: Maggard's London Barbershop

Great 3 pass BBS this morning. I really like the scent of the TSD Signature Soap. I started with a dryer brush and built a fantastic lather on my face by gradually adding water as I lathered. Finished up with a splash of CC Bay Rum.

    SUNDAY
Day #2 of 7 using the Böhler Stahl
Super-smooth 3-pass shave in the pre-dawn hours today. I enjoy these quiet, unhurried shaves early Sunday mornings. I'm the only one up in the house, all is quiet, the smell of hot coffee wafting in the room, and the only sound is a full-hollow razor 'taking care of business'…
    Have a blessed Sunday, all!
