That is hard to say but if first impressions, then I would say the H1 anyway. It feels more aggressive than the R1/R2 for sure and maybe close to the H2. I need more time to compare but is sure is efficient and shaves very well and close! I can only say that I got a better/closer shave with this than the H1.
Good. Except putting on the Pre Shave cream for sensitive skin irritates my skin a little so a bit weird.
SOTD 17 May 2015 30 Day Rule with a Schick! Another great shave from a fine razor! I am on a TSD Iced SubZero kick lately! Have a great Sunday!
I'm on the waiting list for the OC head so I am looking forward to your thoughts as you test out all the heads.
MAYhem & Mercy May 17, 2015 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Vie Long Horse 12705 Soap - Tabac Razor - RazoRock TTO Blade - (1) Post - Alum, Proraso It's Sunday, I have some new products ready to go, so I'm going to take a one day break from my focus and try them out!!! Finally got the Vie Long 12705 smelling like something other than a wet horse, and maybe a dead one at that. A couple of days in Proraso and a couple more in Arko and it seemed all fumigated. Until I got it wet then a bit of the funk returned, but hey, let's play that funky horsey till we die (pause for groan, proceed when safe). Also got some Tabac in this week and really like the smell in the bowl. Nothing funky about it. Great scent. Have my RazoRock TTO that I got a couple of weeks ago and have used a few times. Love the razor, could become my favorite, already is my favorite modern one. Look out vintage! Have a Sharp Star blade from my absolute favorite blade manufacturer in the world, Mostochlegmash in Moscow, Russian Federation. Or, as they say, the Glorious Motherland comrades!! (pause for military parade) Let's put them all together, shall we? Having never used a horse brush or Tabac I knew I was taking a bit of a chance in destroying any chance of a decent lather but I started slow and worked up a very nice lather. Not as thick as Arko but definitely slick and cushiony enough to work with. The feel of the horse on my face was awesome. The 12705 is 35% main, 65% tail which provided what I was hoping for....a soft feel with a scritch underneath. Almost had to pause for a tear of joy to run down. The RR TTO with the Sharp Star, well, I did pause to shed a tear of joy. My oh my what a great shave. Smooth yet a bit aggressive feeling, the Tabac was marvelous and each pass was a joy to use the brush. (SWMBO asked what I was blubbering about through the door...I was too emotional to answer.....she declared me out of my *^&*$((* mind and left me to my nirvana. Three passes and one very minor touch up later I was rocking the baby. Alum was silent on my face, only the slightest hint of burn on my neck where I normally Gillette Slide to finish (guess it would be a Rock slide with this razor.....pause to groan if needed). Splashed on the Proraso after shave and sent up a promise to the shaving gods....never again will I allow Williams to touch my face. I think I'll burn what's left of that after coating it with the Veg to send up a pleasing aroma as an offering. Hope you all had a glorious shave of your own today! Back to the Mercy phase tomorrow.
Pre: hot shower and Stirling Spice bath bar soap Soap: My Sunday staple - TSD Frankincense & Myrrh Razor: R-89 with SI blade Post: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva Musk with 4 drops of M-Bomb, Vaseline Cocoa Butter lotion, and a liberal amount of Old Spice aftershave. Cologne: Polo Black TSD Frankincense & Myrrh smells so good! Im gonna check into some aftershave and/or cologne.
Thanks but please dont take my opinions with too much weight as I am new at DE with only around 3 months in. I am going to use just the OC side today and then just the CC side for tomorrow's SOTD so I can get an idea of differences/similarities between the combs! Thx.

Razor: Gillette New LC Bar Handle 1930s Big Boy wood case Brush: e-shave finest Badger Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: The Body Shop Maca Root cream Blade: Feather (4) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Pinaud Clubman AS No straight today. Back with the Gillette New LC, and I'm looking forward to another good shave with it. Loaded a Feather blade, and checked the alignment. Looks good and I'm really liking this razor. Whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug. The warm Maca Root lather felt real good on my sensitive face after yesterday's Adventure. First pass was very close, and the razor sang a nice tune to let me know how it was going. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup on my trouble spot on my neck. No buffing today to give my face a rest. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB balm. Finished up with some Pinaud Clubman AS. Y'all have a good one.
SOTD - May 17, 2015 Shower Prep: Homemade Citrus & Cedar PSO Brush: Whipped Dog Synthetic Soap: Stirling Ozark Mountain Razor: Weber PH wave handle Blade: Derby (5) Aftershave: Mennen Skin Bracer
No problem at all. I am looking forward to your SOTD reports on the Wolfman heads. I am not anticipating getting mine until July.
Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Rituals Samurai Bamboo and Wakame foaming face wash Soap/cream- VITOS green label shaving soap Brush- Whipped dog 24 mm silvertip Razor- WEBER polished head all stainless steel razor Blade- Astra SP Post- Cold water rinse, Homemade aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive aftershave balm Evening shave so no scent for my post shave. I used my homemade splash and Nivea ASB. Vitos performed flawlessly! The weber is amazing but I got cocky and pushed down a little on my mustache area plus I didn't get my chin as close as I would like to. But knowing when to stop is Key! Haha Good night eveybody
Prep - Shower / Pre-lather / 3 min steam towel Razor - Gillette Ball End Tech Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Yellow (#2) Brush - Omega 20106 Soap - The embarrassingly forgotten Proraso Green After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix Result - BBS As smooth a shave as they come! If this is what's to be expected then count the Yellow part of the rotation! Is there a bad blade from St.Petersburg? Found my long forgotten tube of Proraso as well, lurking in the bottom of my cabinet. I don't understand how forgot about this one but I'm glad it's back. I always mix this a bit thicker than others as the protection falls off if I don't.
Razor.. gillette fat boy Blade.. rapira platinum lux Brush.. seafoam b&b essential boar Soap.. tiki custom scent
Brush Focus: Day 17/30 Brush: Fendrihan Classic Silvertip Shaving Brush, Faux Horn Handle, 22/49 Gillette Super Speed, Red Tip (1955- A-3) Gillette Platinum Blade (3) Bowl: KO Shave Soap: Jack's Soap A/S: Clubman Jeris Osage Rub Toner Old Spice Coffee Mug.(soak brush) Another great brush. The 49mm is the key to a good Silvertip brush, anything more and it gets floppy (IMO-YMMV) This brush works perfectly for me. I soak the brush, shake it out and start mixing in the bowl. The remaining water in the mug from soaking is the water I use to build a thick rich lather. It probably takes a least a minute so to start to see the results in the bowl. Dip the brush a few time in water and it all comes together. The last few day have been outstanding 3 pass shaves with no need for a clean up. I will skip the Whipped Dog Silvertip with the marble handle as it just doesn't cut it anymore. Nothing personal, Larry suggest deep setting Silvertips, yet his handles are only 10mm, and the Silvertip I bought from Whipped Dog is not deep set and very floppy. IMHO.
Sunday's Shave Prep: Hot shower Soap: Arko Brush: Omega 13522 Razor: Eversharp Schick G1 Blade: Schick Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm Scent: Tommy Bahama Very Cool Gave the Schick injector I got from the Den's Monty Hall, @americanshamrock a try today. Got a great 3 pass DFS shave. Initial impressions: awesome around the upper lip which is one of my problem areas, and was great for ATG around my jawline and neck. Most DE razor and blade combos I've tried skip and snag when I go ATG in those areas but the injector was smooth and easy. Did have a little irritation but great shave for the first try with it.
The St. Petersburg blades don't work for me except the Astra. However for those they do work for they are among the best!
