Razor: Dubl Duck Goldedge 5/8 Round point 1947-52 Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts) Brush: e-shave finest Badger Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: Jack Black cream Blade: Feather (3) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne Frosted Glass 1960s Second shave with the Dubl Duck Goldedge back from @gssixgun, after he honed it. Before I shaved with it the first time I looked at the edge on the Goldedge and compared it to my Special #1, which I stropped, a lot, under magnification, to see the difference in edges. My edge on the Special #1 looked good in comparison so I'm now not worried about stropping the Goldedge. I stropped it for 30 laps on my bench strop, after shaving with it the first time, and gave it 10 more before today's shave. It popped hair off my arm so my stropping was good, woo! Lathered up the Jack and off we go. Wow, very sharp and smooth, thanks Glen. I like the round point a lot. Very light pressure and no pull or drag. Getting better and a little closer doing most of my face using both hands and adjusting my angles. finished with my Goodwill and only needed 1/2 pass. So my stropping technique is good, which makes me glad, as I didn't hurt the edge. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne. Great shave, and I love this Duck!
Wade & Butcher PdP No. 63 homemade boar Decent shave this morning but the blade should have been better. A couple of passes on pasted strop could have made a big difference. From decent to much, much better. Have a good one.
Otto Steinen just under a 5/8 but with a nice long blade- ebay purchase that cleaned up nicely. Sent to me shave ready but not quite. I took it all the way back to 1K through 12K to Apache Strata. Nice shave today. Every once in a while I like to use one of these petite little blood letters soap - Seifenglatt Cognac - I ordered 3 of these in different scents because of all the hype Joe at Italian barber was giving. Never cared for any of them that much. Not bad but I have too many good soaps to mess with them. Today I used the Cognac with DR Harris Marlborough crème and had the most wonderful ubelather ever. I have learned to not throw out or give away a soap until I try it with a creme AS - Floid Amber Balm - Soap Commander Passion
Filly cade Omega Sintex Nice shave this morning these No.14's just seem to shave (Friodur and other makers too) well. This brush will be having major surgery soon, either before the barbershop this morning or after. Have a good one.
Razor: Dubl Duck Special #1 5/8 Squire point 1947-52 Merkur 34c HD 2014 Brush: Whipped Dog 30/45 Silvertip Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: Geo. F. Trumper's Coconut cream Blade: Feather (4) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton AS Ok, back to the Dubl Duck Special #1. This Duck is smaller, (from honing?) than my Goldedge which is 5/8, and even with its spike point, which is a little rounded off, let's me get under my upper lip a little easier. I'm still working on angles and this smaller blade helps. Getting better and a little closer doing most of my face using both hands and adjusting my angles. finished with my Merkur and only needed 1/2 pass. So my stropping technique is good, which makes me glad, as I didn't hurt the edge. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some Old Spice original Shulton AS. Great shave!
In the immortal words attributed to Yogi Berra, this morning's shave was 'Déjá vu…all over again!' Day#2 of a seven-consecutive day use of the same razor this month. Smmmmmoooooooth shave!

Razor: Dubl Duck Special #1 1947-52 (rescaled) Gillette Ball End Tech NDC (declared 1947) Birth Year Brush: Vintage Ever-Ready 300L with TGN Silvertip 18/51 Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: Castle Forbes cedarwood & sandalwood cream Blade: Feather (1) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice Lathered up the Castle with the Silvertip. Started like my last shave going from my sideburn to my jaw line on my right side, and my left side with my left hand. Getting better and a little closer. Working on getting under my upper lip, and I'm getting better. Left side of my neck is a breeze with my left hand but my right side is a challenge. I finished with my Tech, and only needed 1/2 pass. Still working all the angles, but getting better. The videos are helping me get the angles better. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some vintage OS. Y'all have a good one.
