Tabacstag! I recently traded for a 1959 Fat Boy. Its in very good shape and shaved smoothly today. I made überlather with Tabac cream and soap, whipped up with my HIS XL. I set the FB on 3 for the first pass and it went very well. I then dialed up to 5 for the rest of the shave. My cheeks feel great, but I think I should have stayed more mild on my neck. I have a little burn on the lower neck. I still think it was a solid shave as I experiment to find the best way to use the FB. Cologne Russe finished up the shave right and left me smelling great. No shave today -- sportin' some stubble just because. But, I still indulged in my scents: Thayers Rose Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva Musk, Master Checker Flag, Pinaud Musk, and some Versace Eau Fraiche.
How do you like the scent of the "Ghost Town Barber"?? Can you relate it to the TSD Barbershop scent or Stirling Barbershop? Are they similar? Worlds apart? I've been eyeballing the Ghost Town Barber (and some other scents) from Chiseled Face and am curious. I was gonna buy some samples but they were out of stock. I see on the facebook machine that they have restocked but it will be at least next month before I could purchase some samples.
Razor: Dubl Duck Special #1 1947-52 (rescaled) Gillette New SC Red & Black set 1930s Brush: Fuller Amber Badger 1920s -1940s Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 02) 1964 – 1978 Cream: TOBS Grapefruit cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice Flower: Double Hibiscus from the back yard 20 laps on the strop after my last shave, keeping it sharp. Lathered up the TOBS with the Badger. Getting better and a little closer. Working on getting under my upper lip, and I'm getting better. Left side of my neck is a breeze with my left hand but my right side is a challenge. I finished with my NEW SC, and only needed 1/2 pass. Still working all the angles, but getting better. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some vintage OS. Summers here! Y'all have a good one.
