so i had a break at work today and said: "hey why dont i stop into that antique store really quick" (we all know how this turns out)....as im looking the lady ask we if im looking for anything special, and of course you all know my answer....well, her husband hears me say this and says; "hold on a min. let me go get my personal collection" (me:"ohhhhhh crap").....cant believe all the cool stuff he had and luckily i only walked out with this slim and lady gillette (for my wife, trying to get her to catch the bug)...but, i will be back to get a few other things and he also said he is always going to "antique shows" and will look out for different things for me and give me a call...bye bye money, hello RAD will clean them up and update... wish i had a better camera but they cleaned up very nice....didnt really need a whole lot
Had a wonderful smelling package waiting for me at the post office today. The soap is a freebie sample. Im not sure the scent (labeled tiel) but it smells great. I know what I'll be using tomorrow
Two knots 16mm (one boar, one badger) I've been waiting for arrived from TGN today. I posted the vintage brush handles along with the knots. These two should round out my collection of "wee" brushes nicely.
The last of my European fleabay purchases arrived today. It's a 30's vintage Laurel razor with a bakelite head. Over all the razor is in in great condition. Although it takes a proprietary blade, Im hoping it wont be too hard to modify a regular DE blade to at least try it once.
Thanks. It's back to you though as I'm done for awhile after my last two packages arrive (brushes from UK, soap from Germany).
Nice looking razor. I'm intrigued by beautiful straights, but being 65 years old and recently switching from cartridge to DE I don't think I want to start filleting my face. Good catch.
Some new additions to the den thanks to @Boojum1 's generosity. Duly Mitchell Bowl Weber Polished Head
That's one of the best handmade wooden handles I've ever seen. It'd look bada$$ in a dark wood with light wood inlay.
The puck of Mitchell's Wool Fat @Bama Samurai so graciously PIF'd me, sitting in its new home! Plan on trying this over the weekend when I have some time to work on lathering and enjoy it with a great setup! Thanks @Bama Samurai!
