FANTASTIC score!!! I'm glad your President now has a good home. Unfortunately I don't have a President yet, but I do have an Aristocrat and Diplomat. They are WONDERFUL shavers and are my favorite TTO's. They both shave much better than the SuperSpeeds for me.
This is my first year Y4 President. I found it in a local antique store in a red plastic 1940's Superspeed case. It was listed as a Superspeed and marked at $25.00! Couldn't help it I had no choice but to take her home. It's almost mint. Just a few very small scratches on the head from use. Which appears to be very little use. Is there anyone out there that has a President case they would be willing to sell? This razor deserves to be in a matching case. Please let me know. Any idea what a near mint President without the case sells for?
A regular president in fair shape 35-45 Mint shape...65-85 The rare Y2 president.fair shape 60-80 Mint...100+ Case in fair condition 20-40 Mint case..50-70 Now I have a Y2 in mint..10out of 10 condition with a original box condition 9..and with its original NOS dispenser I'm hoping to get around $400.00. Why is the Y2 so rare? I thought they were all pretty rare. They only made the President for 2 years.
In January of that year Gillette ran out of President handles so they used the aristocrat handle... they didn't get the delivery of handles till the 3rd quarter so you'll find late quarter Y1s 2nd quarter only Y2s with the Aristocrat handle and then the rest of the presidents that were made after that all had the full knarling like they were designed Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
