I wonder how bad it can be. I'm sure bad...but how bad? It's not an auction but a BIN or $4.93 AND they accept offers. Shipping is free. I'm so tempted to put a $1 offer but I know I shouldn't If anyone is brave/dumb to do so please review it Specifications: Blade material: Steel Handle material: Wood Width of blade: 1.5cm (0.59") Length of blade: 7cm (2.76") Thickness of blade: 3mm (0.12") Overall Length: 18.7cm (7.36")
Well maybe in addition to be shaped like one maaaaybeeee it also shaves like one? Ok, ok..I probably know the answer to that
Any TSD member who wishes to invest in that fine razor should be compelled to use it every day in the '30-Day Rule' thread… Only after it has been sharpened…and then, maybe.
Well I submitted an offer for 99 cents. Hey, shipping is free and if they accept I get a neat one dollar letter opener
Hang on...I'm invoking the @HolyRollah rule here....you invest in it you shave with it for 30 days. Kevin said so!!
There has been an influx of cheap razors direct from China on the bay lately. I'll have to look and see if the straight is from the same seller as the DE's I've seen. One of them is described as having "hard veneer" which makes it very effective. They seem to need a bit of marketing help though the prices are incredibly cheap.
I think that's a Master Cutlery razor. Not too great, and it's stainless. In my opinion, ANY blade worth it's salt should be of some sort of carbon steel (this does not pertain to DE razor blades). I have one around somewhere I think, but have never gotten it sharpened. I only paid $3 for it though, so no biggie. If properly sharpened though, it should do the job. Perhaps even do it quite well. Only one way to find out I suppose. Hmmmm...... now me thinks I should tryn find mine and get it properly sharpened.
Cheap straights are always on eBay. They're not meant to be shaved with. They're carry blades called cheek cutters. You carry them in jurisdictions that do not allow knives. It's a razor, officer, I swear. They open as quickly as a MilanoQ Stiletto and are just as deadly.
Lol, is this true, or have you been watching too many The Matrix movies? Jk Honestly, I live in NH where we actually passed a law saying citizens have a right to carry any blade of any size in public places, up to and including swords! Given the choice, I think I'd rather one of my swords........for shaving as well. lmao
