very observant of you @txskimo ! Napoleon BBQ - porcelainized cast iron WAVE™ cooking grid. Yet another wonderful passion.
Cedar planks under salmon? MMmmmmmm good! I've done that as well though not on fresh salmon. We don't have salmon in the Mississippi River. But on a pacific salmon filet, oh yeah!
Nice to discover another shared passion. BBQ is definitely one of mine. Now, if you buy the pig and shave it prior to it being butchered.....well then....the best of both passions. Plus new bristles to make brushes!!
Ah passions, I'll add another : - shaving the pig for technique and brush bristles, - enjoying his ultimate gift on the barbecue, - all the while listening to a ball game in the summer sun!
The recent rains have made mowing a real challenge - not that I'm complaining - so I had to grab the string trimmer to take on the patch of weeds we call the lawn and the driveway. The Arkansas River remains about 3 feet above flood stage east of Pueblo, Colorado.
Picked up a dead bird off my roof with my bare hands, at least that's how imagined it. In reality I just left it there...
You, my friend, are as brave as any brave soul I have met! As for me, my manly act was waking up this morning and finding a dead rat in the cage with my corn snake. (I have four snakes total). That wouldn't be a horrible thing except that..........(weak stomachs may want to stop reading)........... It was the rat she ate three days ago. Still mostly intact but for some reason she regurgitated it. Ever smell a dead rat? Now take that and add three days of rotting inside a snake trying to digest it. I removed it....and unfortunately that wasn't something I imagined. Oh the joys of keeping snakes at times.
Watched CAPRICORN ONE last night, finished watching the tail end this morning (was slightly better than I recalled but the idea could have made for a great film). Then push mowed and did a couple loads of dishes/laundry. Gathered trash. Played with Barbies. Then had lunch out with the Wife at a small Spanish place nearby. Jarrito's soda water goes very well with it. Came home, layed out in the sun for a bit, then took a nap. May cook up a package of ground beef, haven't decided. Now posting on TSD.
