That is extremely kind of you to say so and I thank you for your kind words. However, I don't really like taking indoor photos as there isn't enough of a challenge for me, most times. I much prefer the challenges that Mother Nature offers.
Razor: Dubl Duck Goldedge 5/8 Round point 1947-52 Gillette New SC Red & Black set 1930s Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48 Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Soap/Cream: Cella classica 1899 Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, TOBS Luxury AS Whipped up the Cella with the Silvertip in my favorite mug. Getting better and a little closer with the round point. My angles are getting better and the blade was singing a nice tune for the first time. Found the sweet spot, but couldn't keep it everywhere. Working on getting under my upper lip, and I'm getting better. I finished with my OC and only needed 1/2 pass. Best shave so far with a straight, very happy. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some TOBS. Y'all have a good one.
May 29, 2015 “Freedom Friday" 60 yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 2 AC*) Pre-Shower Prep: Lucky Tiger Lemon Cleansing Facial Cream Morning Hot Shower Prep: Pre-Shave Oil - The Art of Shaving Soap: Proraso Blue Brush: Omega Pro 48 Razor: Gillette Tech “Fat Handle” Blade: Gillette / Wilkinson Sword Stainless (India) Mustache/Beard Trim: Schick Golden 500 After Shave: Proraso A/S Splash, Proraso A/S Cream Last weekend of shaving options freedom before I enter a 30-Day Rule regimen to improve my newbie razor technique. I enjoy posting here and mostly reading the comments by all of you regarding your shaves. There’s always a little nugget of knowledge to be gleaned from them and I’m loving the artistry of your photos! I will still follow the thread but question my ability to post anything of value myself. I figure that my shaving life will be similar to the film Groundhog Day where Bill Murray is forced to live through the same day over and over until he gets it right. Mine will be focusing on getting my technique right. But to do it, I suppose it’s best to keep all the other shaving variables constant and just focus on technique. Boring for most, but I’m keen for what it will provide me when I get through it. Today’s blade performed well enough (just one minor weeper) with giving me a clean shave that I’ll be using that brand for the 30-day experience. (Plus the pack came with 10 blades so it should last thru the entire time.) Enjoy your weekend folks. Cheers! - RT *AC = After Carts

My first time with the Aristocrat and I can see why many people like it. Very efficient little TTO razor that took out my coarse 2 day growth with ease. Now I can't help but touch my face throughout the day!
Phew! for awhile I was thinking I was getting weird, as I'd find myself doing the same thing throughout the day!

First time using a badger knot?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My goodness! You have so many wonderful knots to try and experience. I couldn't be without mine unless I was forced to!
Brush Focus: Day 29/30 Brush: Fendrihan, Silvertip, Black Handle-22/49. Gillette - Black Flare Tip, SS, P-1 (1970). Feather, Hi Stainless, Platinum (1) Soap: Razo-Rock, Don Donato. A/S: Lucky Tiger. Old Spice Coffee Mug.(soak brush) This is also an outstanding brush not floppy at all and it loads lather like it is going out of business. Tip are soft as a babies hid side. I'm sure the Razo Rock, Don Donato helps with the lather. It is a very good soap. I'm very happy to be back to the Feather Platinum blade, 3 pass shave tonight. Probably one of the best, if not the best shaves I have ever had. Spent a moment to long looking at A/S so out came Luck Tiger. Great product. I'm going to use the Whipped Dog Silvertip tomorrow just to make sure I'm judging it fairly. I've used 2 Silvertips in the last 2 day so it will be treated fairly. I have been extremely happy with the knots I've purchased from Whipped Dog and I hope this brush performs better tomorrow.
