This morning's shave with the Stirling Barbershop soap was awesome - that scent from the soap blows me away and the Clubman aftershave goes so well with it.

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Bay Rum
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, XTG (7, 8, 9)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

Whereas most of my other soaps are a joy to lather, Stirling still feels like work to lather. Longer loading time, more fiddling with the water ratio, and more touchups are required for me at this stage. Because yesterday's shave was late and today's was relatively early, though, I got really close DFS results today, with one weeper on the Adam's Apple.

Great 3 pass near BBS shave this morning. About the best I can do on a work morning. The TSD Signature soap is very easy to lather. The scent is sort of a take on Bay Rum so it paired well with CC Bay Rum AS. Happy Friday. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

The mixture of TOBS Almond Cream and Col. Conk's Almond Soap has always worked well for me, especially when I add in a touch of glycerin. Today was not an exception. I had as good of a lather as I could hope for. I almost did a 4th pass, but stopped and checked my face thoroughly before starting the 4th pass. I was so clean shaven that I did not think a 4th pass could make an improvement. 3 passes and smooth as silk.

    Today was a good day.
First time use of a Fatboy that I just received in a PIF. Thank you very much.
I must say, I was skeptical but this was a very nice shave. I have never had good luck with the slims but this was good!

Yesterday's shave still had my face pretty clean-shaved this morning.
To be honest, if it wasn't for the fact that I wanted to shave with the wolf today I probably would had skipped the shave this morning.
I'm happy I didn't though as it was yet another fantastic shave.
One pass and I was done. Clean, efficient and smooth.
Super happy I got it and this one will stay with me.

post: DIY balm, tobacco (see sig)

Today almost redeemed the infamous PSO-less shave of two days ago. I ran the Schick adjustable on 4 yesterday and it was a wee bit scrapey. Today I backed it to trusty ol' number 3 and it was sweetness indeed. If I weren't a baby chaser, I could have walked away after the first pass and had a very good DFS.

The second pass could have been just touchups, but I gave it a full lather... and promptly abandoned discipline so still missed a couple of small areas. Touched those away and noticed a bit of redness. Minimal sting with my version of Kevin's balm, but there is usually none!

I was puzzled until I realized that I haven't used the Personna injector blade in a very long time. I am wondering if the Schicks treat my face better. I may test this in the near future, but the USPS is bringing a new acquisition today. I'll be posting about it next week so won't steal my own thunder today!

Happy Friday, y'all. Keep 'em smooth and comfy!

Congratulations and James is making some very efficient and smooth shavers! I am still trying to decide if the recent reduction he did on my WR1-SB is too mild or not. Also, I just found out that he can both reduce and, then, increase the blade gap on a razor head, somehow!! I had never known this could be possible and I look forward to seeing how he does it. :)

I do agree that some of the Stirling soaps require some extra effort to lather, but the end justifies the means. The Barbershop soap I used this morning gave me very, very good, rich lather with brilliant skincare. :)
