6/5/2015 Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Gillette Senator, Hamburg Concave Quick Cutter straight razorv Blade: Super Max Platinum (7) Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair Soap: Cella After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm Cologne: Prada - Amber Pour Homme Intense Happy Friday! The Vie Long brush whipped the Cella up into a nice lather this morning. The Senator and the Quick Cutter did a fine job. The Nivea and the Prada were a good finish to the shave. All in all it was another Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
How are you liking that Bay Rum? I really enjoyed it. It's my type of Bay Rum scent. Not too heavy on the apple cider scent.
Friday, 6/5/2015 Head and Face Birthday SOTD Happy 5th in June everyone. I decided to treat myself for my birthday and try out the Parker SR1 that I won in a PIF recently (thanks @Lyndon). I've never used any sort of a straight or shavette before, so I used the SR1 on my face along with my Omega brush and some Stirling Sharp Dressed Man. I went with my trusty Fatboy, the Jolly Green Giant, and the dermatologist directed Aveeno Gel on my dome. I definitely need some practice with the SR1 to get comfortable holding it before trying it on my dome. It certainly felt a little awkward. I typically stick with a single WTG pass on my face. No cuts, nicks, or weepers, and I do think it felt a little more smooth than the DE when I was done. It tugged and skipped a little, but I think that was a combination of the Shark blade that came with it, and the lightness of the razor. I'm definitely going to stick with it on my face for a while.
SOTD 06.05.2015 June Open Comb Focus Prep: Hot shower Razor: Gillette New SC Blade: Voskhod Brush: Omega 10083 Boar Brush Lather: Maggard London Barbershop Soap Post: Cold rinse, Alum, Witch hazel, Aqua Velva Ice Sport Great confidence boost shave. Planned SOTD 5 June 2015 30 Day Rule with a Cadet OC! Have a great Friday! Edit post shave: Turned out Great!
Wow I didn't know that either. I love the ability to get a razor head that ends up being perfectly 'tuned' to how you want it. I think I lucked out on my 'wild guess' on how more aggressive I want the head to be - it feels near perfect.

I like it a lot! It annoys me in one aspect though: I KNOW my very first (failed!) attempt at a shaving soap used this exact fragrance... but I can't remember what it was or where I got it! ARRRGH! ...
It reminded me of a puck I got via PIF. I was told it was a beer soap company bay rum. I think it was this one, but I've never verified: http://www.thebeersoapcompany.com/thebeersoap/carlsberg.html
The Fat meets the 'Fat Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam Razor - Gillette Fat Handled Tech Blade - Feather Hi-Stainless (#1) Brush - Omega 20106 Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix Result - BBS+ The usual sublime results from this combination tonight. I'm still confused as to the rather undeserved reputation of MWF though. In fact I'm finding very similar properties to my beloved Arko!
