As Kerry mentioned Jim has been dealing with some family issues and that has been his priority. I've let him know that people still ask and love his products. I hope he will able to return to making WSO products in the future.
I have one unopened puck of WSO soap. It's become sentimental for me now and I'm hesitant to use it. That stuff is good.
I still have 2 and a quarter of one. I used one last week and loved it. I hope he comes back. I keep telling him people ask about him all the time.
I used Zaro the other day, loved it! I also have G.I.T. His balms/aftershaves are very soothing. I hope Jim makes a comeback.
Why not use it and enjoy it? Saving it will only delay the inevitable at best, and denies you the pleasure of its use in the meantime. We often take the availability of such things as a favorite soap or that simply perfect blade for granted. Blades can be discontinued or the distribution networks changed, making them suddenly unavailable. The same holds especially true for artisan shaving soaps made by one or two person cottage industries. Illness, family issues, work, moving, loss of interest/moving on to other things, etc. can result in no more soap from that artisan. That is why it is important to find at least a few soaps, blades, aftershaves that work particularly well for you. That way if one product becomes unavailable, there are still alternatives to fall back on. I wish Jim all the best, both for now and in the future. Anybody who made what appears to be a stellar shaving soap certainly deserves some extra good karma!
I just saw on Facebook that Jim is getting WSO going again, said on May 24th that "the first return batches of soap, AS Balm & Blash to be for sale just around the corner!" https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=845942972109522&id=598306653539823 I did not get a chance to try his products before he went in hiatus, looking forward to being able to do so now.
Jim just posted an update on his blog. So glad that he is making a return. The artisan shave soap market has exploded over the past year, but WSO is still one of the best products I've ever used. I can't wait to see his new offerings.
Looks like he just put up some inventory for sale today. Some say limited quantities for now. I am going to have to try some of them
