Menthol Monday: SE SOTD 6/8/15 Razor: Eversharp-Schick Injector (Model J?) Blade: Schick Injector Brush: WD Silvertip Soap: Stirling Black Ice AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush My sweetheart came home with a flea market find ($5) the other day. I've had very little experience with SE razors and none with injectors. But, I was very pleasantly surprised by how easy this razor is to use. The angle decision is pretty much made for you, you're either cutting whiskers or not. I also found you can be a bit less careful, (i.e. a bit more aggressive-handed) than any DE razor I've used. The resulting shave was a nice DFS. I'm intrigued by this razor and it's now a new addition to my rotation.

Thanks guys. The funny thing is I was perfect until about 2:00 am. Then I felt absolutely lousy - in fact, I almost didn't shave this morning because that's how sick I was feeling. The menthol bombardment felt heavenly, and every now and then I splash on a little of the Penguin. It helps keep me well-chilled and it smells nice. I'll save the Aramis that I was supposed to wear today for tomorrow if I feel better. I plan on having another good mentholated shave with a Stirling soap.

Razor: Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts) Brush: Badassshaving Flaming Birch Black Badger 24/55 Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 02) 1964 – 1978 Cream: Jack Black cream Blade: Feather (2) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1947 glass Talcum powder (ship Mt. Vernon sailing to right), Old Spice original Shulton 1973 - 1975 Lantern Decanter AS The Gillette Goodwill is a nice mild razor for me even with a Feather blade. This version is built with Gillette "New" parts. There are many versions out there using "Old" and "New" made in the USA and Canada. I whipped up a thick warm lather in the OS Mug as it was sitting on a wash cloth, for padding, in the sink that was filled with hot water. Very nice two pass shave with some touchup. I really like this JB cream. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some JB Balm. Finished with some vintage OS talc on my neck and then some vintage Old Spice. Very nice relaxing shave. Y'al have a good one!
Get well soon, but it sounds like its time for......... Hot Toddy 1 cup of tea (green, or your favorite) 1 tsp honey 1 shot of bourbon, rum, tequila ( you get the idea) 1 tsp lemon juice 1cinnamon sticks (optional) 1 pn cloves, to taste (optional) 1 lemon wedges (optional) Make the tea as you normally do, but use a large mug. Add the honey onto the bottom and stir. Then the adult beverage and lemon juice. Garnish with any combination of whole cloves, cinnamon stick, and/or lemon wedge. Sit back and enjoy. Repeat as necessary. Works like a charm!
Thanks for the recommendation - it does sound good. I just had some mint tea which my wife gave me. Soon I'll lie down and take a good nap.
