It is, I always face lather so it gets used for the rinsing water for my razor. A very nice thing it is.
Nah it's up now. A bit buggy/lacking features - but up. Note: You are required to reset your pwd to log in.
Let's see how I feel tomorrow morning - so far not so great. For Tuesday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 2 Stirling Glacial Lavender SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Aramis EdT (if I feel better) Wow, I haven't been sick like this for a long time - my wonderful wife Corinne really takes terrific care of me. She selected the Glacial Lavender soap for my shave, and I'm so happy she did. This stuff is such a great latherer, it smells so nice, and the menthol power from it is off the frigging charts. This soap has the typical perfect skincare which is so uniform to Rod's products - it's a true treasure. Once again, I'll finish off with the Gold Bond moisturizer and I'll let the Rubby Dubby Doo turn my face into a block of ice. The new Derby blade is ready to do the cleaning-up job again.
SOTD 6-8-15 MENTHOL MONDAY!! BOWL: VDH PREMIUM BOWL RAZOR: MAGGARD MR18C BLADE: LORD (2ND USE) BRUSH: OMEGA S SYNTHETIC SOAP: RAZOROCK DON MARCO (ICED WITH MENTHOL GLYCERIN) POST: GOLD BOND/ STEPHANS ISLAND LIME AS (ICED WITH MENTHOL CRYSTALS) I decided to try my new menthol infused glycerin out and the results were fantastic. I was worried it would kill the lather since I had to dissolve the menthol in alcohol, but it actually made a slicker lather. I had only used this soap once and I forgot how great the scent is. I have been getting some great shaves lately and I don't know if it is because I'm getting my technique down, or if it is the new razor. I like how the 18c looks and it feels heavier than others. I tend to use way too much pressure so I have been working on that. it seems when I don't put pressure on the razor it doesn't cut, so I am trying to find the sweet spot. the Gold Bond is a great moisturizer and the Island Lime has a great scent and was quite cold due to the menthol crystals. have a great shave everyone!!
Razor: Gillette Redtip, (A-3) 1955 Blade: Gillette, Platinum (5) Brush: Fendrihen Silvertip Faux Ebony Handle, 22/49 Soap: Stirling-Cool Mug: Soak brush for about a minute. A/S: Lucky Tiger So here I go again. I thought for sure that using this soap, which I believe to be as hard as any shave soap I have would prove that a stiffer brush would work better with this particular soap. Darn, wrong again. This soap worked perfectly with the Silvertip brush. A great 3 pass shave with a cool soap. Perhaps it is the preparation of the soap that is more important than the brush. Stay tuned.
Oh, that she does! Our trainer was a teacher at my school last year and is a well qualified trainer. She just enjoys inflicting pain on us 50+ year olds!
I've had a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder area so I haven't shaved in over a week! Today I shaved and.... Pre: Shower Pre2: Proraso Red Preshave Brush: VDH Razor: Merkur 23c Blade: Fresh Voskhod Croap: Proraso Red After: Nope, nothing. It was a nice shave. With that much stubble I generally go for an OC, but didnt' want to go dig one out. This proved that I don't really need an OC for that much stubble.
SOTD - Menthol Monday, June 8, 2015 Cool shower Prep: Homemade PSO Brush: Rubberset 49-4, TGN 2-band Soap: Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill Razor: Weber PH Blade: Lord SS (4) Post: Stirling Lemon Chill WH Aftershave: Osage Rub \ Skin Bracer mix
The one I have is less cold than Proraso Green. Just a little shot of menthol. Maybe other batches are stronger, but this one is mild on the coldness factor.
Ah, many people like "Mutt." "Mutt and Jeff" are some special brushes. Read more below ... http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/mutt-and-jeff-2-band-delights.37321/
Oh man they are way cool. I think seeing the other that I've commented about him. Where does one find something like these. SMC (Super Manly Cool)
These are not modern replications so you have to do a lot of looking to find the old brushes that are of this quality to restore. You also generally have to be able to restore (like myself) or have someone do the restoration for you. When I restored these brushes they immediately became the "hit" of my shaving rotation.
