Wednesday's Dove Men Face Wash C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream Olivewood WD Silvertip Gillette Red Tip SS Ladas Super Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Pinaud Clubman AS The C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Olivewood WD Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes with my Gillette Red Tip SuperSpeed razor and a Ladas Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tuesday's shave Unfortunately my shave this evening was probably one of the worst shaves I've had since starting wet shaving. Luckily I know it was all due to my skills and not the equipment - this setup is normally a great shave for me. Tried switching my direction on 1st and 2nd pass up a little as well as adding some slight skin stretching(normally don't do any) and I ended up with a smooth face/neck but lots of irritation and probably half a dozens weepers. Had to use the styptic pencil (a lot) for the first time in a while. Taking tomorrow off to let my neck heal some. Cold water shave: Pre: home made PSO (spearmint) Soap: VDH and aloe vera Blade: Feather stainless Razor: EJ de89kn Post: witch hazel and EJ Sandlewood

Today's shave June 10th 2015. Well I was lazy yesterday June 9th 2015 and didn't shave so had a traumatic decision to make this morning. Will I stay in rotation or will I be a rebel. In my rotation this morning should have been the Feather Weight [mild but efficient] with shave #2 on basically a new GEM SS blade, but of course too many choices and I went to the opposite end of the spectrum. The Micromatic Open Comb. Lathered up and away I went with pass #1. The MMOC is "very" aggressive and "very" efficient. With a near new blade it is extremely so. At the end of the first pass I was nudging DFS. Cold water rinse, re lather and a second touch up pass to call it a day. I haven't used the MMOC a lot but it does give a superb shave. Do I really enjoy shaving with it? Not certain, it seems like that stray dog you got that may have been miss treated at some point in its life and is just waiting to bite for no obvious reason. I do confess to being a wee shaving wimp but have no issues using this razor. If you are sensible it doesn't bite it is just the constant awareness it can. Other SE razors I have are so different, the shave is no better or worse but different. Brush #6 Turkish Soap Mine new recipe. Razor Micromatic Open Comb GEM SS #2 Water rinse finished with Witch Hazel. No irritation so all in all a good shave.
Planned SOTD 10 May 2015 30 Day Rule with a Cadet OC! This setup worked great Tuesday, so i will just do it again! Have a great Wednesday!

June 10 SOTD: Homemade PS Oil Vie-long Horsehair Brush Pacific Shaving Co Caffeinated SC Gillette Slim Stirling Unscented PSB Barbasol Pacific Rush AS The Pacific Shaving Co cream seems to get better every time I use it. Nice, slick shave this morning. The cold water just made it better, and Barbasol put the bow on top.
Fine Fougére I seem to like this combo more each time I use it. The Colonel made short work of the bloomed soap, and the Fatboy did the rest without drama. Even the Tonique felt and smelled better this time for some reason. All in all an excellent shave. Prep: Mickey Lee Lime Soap: B&M Fougére Imperiale Brush: The Colonel Razor: 59 Fatboy 9/9/7 Blade: Voskhod AS: B&M Fougére Tonique
This Sabi Ebony Handle 3 piece razor gave me a better shave than I expected. It's not the mildest DE, but I wouldn't call it overly aggressive either. I threw out the Sharp blade that was originally in it and replaced it with a new Derby, (my last one) and went to town. The Black Ice soap lathered beautifully and gave me its nice black liquorice scent with a pretty good cooling sensation - ok, not anywhere near as powerful as Glacial Obsidian but still very noticeable and enjoyable. The Alt Innsbruck magnified the cooling and I love the scent of it.

Thanks @crackstar A better tomorrow. Takes your best today!
