I received this as part of a blade sampler PIF a while back. The outside wrapper was a Treet, but the guy wrote P74 on it. I wish I had more info...sorry.
Sorry to hear about your migraines. I had a friend that suffered from them when he and I were teenagers. They always seemed to bring him down to his knees I would not wish them on any one. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Razor: Gillette Flare Tip D2 1958 Blade: Gillette, Platinum (1) Brush: Semogue 1305 Boar Tri Colored Wood Handle. Soap: RazoRock XXX Fresh and clean, a cross between classic Italian Colonial and old school barbershop. Mug: Soak my brush in the Old Spice coffee mug for about a minute. A/S: Captain's Choice Sandalwood I'm relatively new to boar brushes so I didn't get the lather I usually get using my badger brushes. Probably user error. I'll stick with it though. I did have a DFS, which is the goal.
The Fendrihan DE is a great DE shaver. I paid $25 (Can). and it is a bargain. I like the 3 piece shavers as opposed to the butterfly shavers. Simple, neat, easy. The Fendrihan is a mild razor. So far I have been using Feathers...and it works well for me. I have no complaints.
Sorry to hear about your migraines and depression. I understand. I think it is great that you find the will to get up and overcome your migraines and depression and enjoy a good shave. I find shaving is one of those times of the day when I can attend to my own wellness, a time to meditate, a time to be good to myself. It has helped me to lift my spirits. Shaving is one of those times in my day when I am reminded to choose light not darkness. Well done.
Gary, I was looking at your map of Greece and it's making me very homesick. Even though I'm Israeli and very proud to be that, when my family and I left Israel we lived in Thessaloniki, Greece for a number of years and I consider Greece to be my home away from home. I have extremely close ties to that country. I remember a week before we were moving here to Montreal I went with some of my dearest friends to an open-air concert in Thessaloniki and were all wearing blue and white soccer uniforms of the Greek national team. Many of us, myself included were waving Greek flags. There were several songs of this concert which made me burst into tears and a woman who performed with the musician and his group came over and when she saw me crying, she kissed and hugged me. The song at the 31 minute mark was one of them which was a real tear-jerker for me. My friends and I were the ones in the back of the musicians. Here's the You Tube video of it - enjoy, and I'll gladly translate for you!
Saturday morning: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 4 Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS Stirling Glacial Wintergreen AS Balm Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH Chabrawichi 555 Cologne SUPER-BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR COLD and beautiful is how this set-up is from beginning to end. I still cannot believe how the new Glacial soaps feel colder, and I don't think it's the power of suggestion. There were a couple of slight adjustments made in the production method and this is what caused the menthol to feel stronger, (no increase at all was made in the amount of it!) and the lather is so much easier to whip up. Same soothing and protective post-shave feeling as before in this treasure of a soap. I wish I had the matching a/balm and witch hazel, but in the meantime the Wintergreen-scented versions of them are better than good enough for me!
SOTD 12Jun15 TGIF Razor: ATT R-1 88 mm Kronos Handle Razor Blade: Wilkinson Sword Brush: "Old Corps"& "Oscar 11" Custom 28/65mm TGN Finest Badger F-2 Knot Resin Handle Brush Bowl: VDH Luxury Mug Set Shower: Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap Tea Tree Liquid Soap Shampoo: Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo - Extra Strength Pre-Shave Face Wash: Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash Pre-Shave Oil: Shave Secret Shaving Oil Shave Soap: Route 66 Bay Rum Post Shave: RazoRock Alum Block Post Shave: Jack Black Post Shave Cooling Gel Aftershave: Captain's Choice Cat O' Nine Tails WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard) What worked well yesterday worked good today. I got a BBS/DFS with "No Nicks or Weepers" I am using a new shaving soap that is new to me. It seems to be very good. Has a great slickness to it. I almost do not need to use any pre-shave oil with it. The only reason I am using the post shave cooling gel is because of the heat and humidity. Maybe after all of these years I finally learned how to shave?
Friday June 12 Was planning to use my normal setup tonight. Even had my pic ready to post here afterwards but... Picked up this beauty at a local shop today new in box. It shaved great! I couldn't be happier to have gotten this razor. It's also my first vintage razor. Pre: home made PSO Soap: VDH Deluxe and EJ lime and pomegranate Razor: '82 Gillette Super Adjustable Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus (came with the razor) Post: EJ Sandlewood I end up super lathering a lot. VDH works very well on its own but adding in some sample creams really makes a nice lather that I enjoy. Doesn't hurt to supplement the scent of VDH either.
Saturday's Dove Men Face Wash TOBS St. James Collection Jayaruh WC1 STB Gillette Red Tip SS Ladas Super Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Pinaud Clubman AS The TOBS St. James Collection Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh WC1 Silvertip Badgerbrush. Two passes with my Gillette Red Tip SuperSpeed razor and a Ladas Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
