Monday 6/15/15 Head SOTD Inaugural run with the Aimsport Spitfire cap on the R41. This thing is LOUD! It also skipped quite a bit. I probably need to experiment with the blade angle. Good shave. I'm not sure the results were any better than a stock 2013 for me. If anything, the first pass may have been a little closer.

MONDAY Menthol-less Monday Third consecutive day using this fine vintage George Wostenholm & Son 'Pipe' razor and the third great shave. This could easily become my 'everyday' razor if circumstances allowed me use of only ONE razor. Fortunately, I've been blessed with the opportunity daily to sample a variety of these vintage shavers. Have a great week, everyone!

This cream Is incredibly slick and gives a lot of cushion. Getting better and a little closer with the round point. My angles are getting better and the blade was singing a nice tune with some help from the Truefitt&Hill. Working on getting under my upper lip, and I'm getting better. I finished with my first DE and only needed 1/2 pass. Very smooth shave with the straight, very happy. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing Nivea. After cleanup some Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS. Ahhhhh! And cleanup was great! No soap scum on anything, and a great slick shave from the Trufitt&Hill. I may have to get some more. Y'all have a good one.
June 15, 2015 SOTD “Lather, Rinse and Repeat Monday and Tuesday and..." 60 yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 5) Pre-Shower Prep: Lucky Tiger Lemon Facial Cleansing Cream Morning Hot Shower Pre-Shave Oil: The Art of Shaving Soap: Arko Brush: Omega Pro 48 Razor: Gillette Gold Tech “Fat Handle” Blade: Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword Stainless (India)(2) Mustache/Beard Trim: Schick Golden 500 Aftershave: Proraso Aftershave Splash Green Following a great intro to traditional shaving in May, I'm now two weeks into a 30-day Rule regimen to focus just on my technique. I've learned much, thanks to all the helpful hints I've received from so many of the experienced shavers doing their 30-day Focus on the same thread. Some of the advice were simple, why-didn't-I-think-of-that hints: - turning your head in the mirror to better focus on blade angle, - opening one's mouth wide to drop the jaw to get a better flattened surface in the hard to get spot on the jaw line. And technical advice on how to set up a more perfect blade angle by "riding the cap" on my Gillette Tech. I've had very good to great shaves in those two weeks, yet also experienced my first ever razor bumps and how to deal with them, including strategies to move from a 3-pass to a 2-pass shave. Sunday's shave was a 3-pass as I had a two-day growth to address having skipped shaving on Saturday (my first skipped day in over a month since staring with a DE.) Sunday's shave was extremely close. So close, that I hardly needed to shave today, but since I have a late evening meeting I'll shave today. (Or, at least that's the excuse I'll use to get to shave today. What's that phrase you all use? Making shaving fun again!)and it was a fun, and fine, 2-pass shave Cheers! - RT
Schick G4 razor Personna blade VDH Luxury SS (scented w/added menthol) Omega 10065 boar brush Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Skin Bracer w/added menthol Nice cool, comfortable shave this morning. Summer is here in SE Louisiana and it sucks.
I picked this up based on some reviews I saw here, and I really like it. The scent is a bit on the perfume side of things, with the Lavender, but its not strong enough to put me off. The glycerin-based creams are becoming my favorites, and I just ordered some #10.
