Today marks the end of my first year of traditional shaving. It's been awesome. While it hasn't completely solved all of my shaving problems, it has been a lot of fun. I've used 7 different DEs and 3 different SEs so far. I still have quite a few DEs and one SE on my list of things to try. I just started playing with a shavette (on the face, not the head yet) and I already have a straight on deck as well. 6/19/2015 Head SOTD Neutrogena Wash Hot Towel Prep Cornhusker's Lotion Stirling Sharp Dressed Man bowl lathered with Omega S brush and applied by hand Merkur Progress @5 with fresh Astra SP Hot Shower, Cold Rinse Tend Skin
congrats...and forgive me but i remember that your dermetologist said not to use DE anymore? how is that going?
Garrett, that was probably a quick year, no? I alway find it interesting seeing the journey many here are on in their quest for the perfect shaving experience. Some are quite content with a good SE (or a dozen variations); others prefer DE razors exclusively (with a variety of styles such as TTOs, OCs, Adjustables, modern & vintage), a few Cartridge hold-outs, some are purely SR shavers, and many dabble in a wide range of razors. Speaking from my own experience (learned on a DE years ago, went to carts for years, returned to the DE fold, now almost exclusively SRs), my feelings regarding shaving have completely flipped from where there were in my cart days, where I grew to despise the chore of shaving. Now it (the act of wet-shaving) is something I look forward to with pleasant anticipation.
