Roaming Tabacstag! I recently traded for some B&M Roam aftershave and I thought the best way to try it out was to pair it with Tabac. I have to say the AS starts off very intensely smelling of burning tobacco and wood, but it mellows as it dries down to a leathery smoke scent. Certainly not for the faint of heart. I will reserve my opinion on the scent for a while. The skincare is beyond reproach, however. My face feels great - smooth and well cared for. I used the Fatboy on 8/7/7 this time to take it easy on my neck, and it worked well, though I'm not sure I'd use this progression instead of nine. There were no weepers or irritation, but I'm not quite as smooth as when I use nine. The Colonel made superb lather from Tabac, as always. Menthol Monday: Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger Soap: Stirling Glacial Obsidian Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Blade: Bic (5) Passes: WTG, XTG (10, 11) Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy Lathered up with the same process as yesterday, but the lather didn't respond as well. Couple that with a blade on its last day, and the results weren't as good. I felt a sharp enough tug my my jawline on the second pass that I had to check twice for a nick. There was no bloodshed, but the shave wasn't very comfortable, and barely more than SAS.

This is the way to wake up the face. The #6 brush whipped up the Cryogen soap into a decent lather. The Stahly and the Duck did a fine job knocking down the stubble. The Cryogen was so cold that I could barely feel the Osage Rub being applied and the 1969 will have me smelling good all day. Have a blessed day!

My first contribution to SOTD in over a month due to a hectic travel schedule and job commitments. I have some new Stirling soaps to discuss, which I'll put up in the soap forum... For today though... Stirling Rosemary Mint Parker best badger Muhle R41 ('13) Personna blue Cold water splash/alum WM Neumann aftershave splash I pulled out what I consider "old faithful" in the form of the '13 R41. This thing, just like it's older cousin, never fails to deliver a perfect shave. The Rosemary Mint soap is simply delightful. The performance is superb, basically what I've come to expect from Stirling Soaps, and this one doesn't fail to astonish me with how easy it whips up into a dense, slick and protective lather. The mint adds an amusing feeling of cool that is is about 1/10th that of the MITA that I just finished up. The scent, for me, is as delightful as the soaps performance. A subtle combination of rosemary and mint. I realize scent is subjective and everyone has his or her preference, but this could easily rocket to the top of my favorites,
