6/23/2015 Tobacco Tuesday!! Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO Razor: Gillette Aristocrat, H. Boker straight razor Blade: Astra SP (4) Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair Soap: RazoRock - Tobacco #1 After: Home made ASB, Aqua Velva Musk after shave Cologne: 1969 It is Tobacco Tuesday. The Vie Long brush whipped up the Tobacco #1 into a nice lather. The Aristocrat and the Boker did their jobs well. The AV and the 1969 were a good finish to this Darn Fine Shave. Have a blessed day!
Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap Soap/cream- Geo F. Trumpers Rose and sandalwood shaving cream samples mixed together + 3 drops of M-Bomb Brush- Semogue 1470 Razor- Merkur 37c Blade- Wilkinson sword Post- Cold water rinse, Lucky tiger Bay rum aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm I have gone back to bowl lathering for a bit. The reasons are; 1. Try and break in my boar brushes 2. I get pretty darn good lather when bowl lathering. Today's lather was average. I'm not sure exactly why. Oh well. Overall a nice shave, not the closest but one has to know when to stop. Wilkinson sword is a little tuggy on the first shave but shave NR 2 and 3 are MUCH better. Added 3 drops of M-bomb and that gave me a very nice chill level. I see how a little goes A long way, had I doubled the drops it might have become a bit much hahaha
SOTD '53 Super Speed Shark Super Chrome (1) Simpsons Colonel TOBS Grapefruit Witch hazel Maggard's London Barbershop AS Trumper's Coral Skin Food I have gone through a lot of gear in the last four years but today I decided on a SS with a Shark Super Chrome because it was the first razor/blade combo that I ever tried. The TOBS Grapefruit remains one of my favorite Spring/Summer scents and the London Barbershop just really seemed to pair well with the TOBS. Picking up my wonderful girlfriend from the airport today so I figured the Skin Food would add a nice touch of softness at the end of the shave. Have a wonderful day, all; I'm really glad that I found this forum!

Prep - Shower / Woods Of Windsor Cedar Woods soap / Pre-lather / 3 min steam Razor - Gillette Slim Adjustable Blade - Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Yellow (#7 and out!) Brush - Omega 10810 Soap - Arko Soap/ Arko Cream/ Glycerine / Orange EO After - Frozen towel / Alum & WH Mix Result - BBS Überlather ....in the middle of the day??!! I'm an evening shaver but in the quiet of a long summers day I took advantage of having the house to myself. Blade wise, the yellows performance fell away sharply on the third pass, and before that I was sure it would last longer. It's been a very enjoyable blade though and I'll possibly add it to the rotation after a face off with the Astra SP.
