Did you visit the Corn Palace? Pretty awesome place that celebrates the importance of corn/farming!

 

Last night was my first shave with the infamous yuma razor. It felt a bit rough, although one side felt better than the other. I checked the blade alignment and it seemed fine. It does look to me as if the angle of the blade guard is different from one side to the other. Here is the line up from last night

Yuma razor
Shark super stainless (3)
Omega syntex brush
arko shave stick

arko classic cream.

Decent shave not terribly irritating but also not super comfortable. But it was fun trying out the yuma.

 

This shave was only ok. Either I got another dud blade, or Personna lab blues are just not as smooth as Voskhod. CB lathered up very easily after sufficient loading as seen in the photo. I added water slowly as needed while building the lather on my face. I used a less aggressive progression today, going 9/7/5, looking for more comfort. It did not work. I still got a couple of weepers and some irritation. The MLB aftershave matches the scent of the soap very well and reminds me of barbershop visits with my Dad.

Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
Soap: DR Harris - Windsor
After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm
Cologne: 1969

Happy Thursday! The Vie Long brush did a nice job whipping the Windsor into a nice lather. The scent is great. The SS and the Fily did their jobs well. The Nivea ASB and the 1969 were a nice finish for this Darn Fine Shave.
