Hot shower Axe Body Wash Homemade Lavender PSO 40 x on SRD strop VDH Luxury soap Franks Badger brush Shumate 296 SR 1963 Slim adjustable (7) with Astra SP blade (1) Post: WH, alum block, Aqua Velva Ice Blue, Nivea AS balm Wasn't able to shave for 4 days because of a really nasty cut on my dominate hand! Finally did a complete shave with the SR and had one little nick by Adam's apple. This Shumate rocks and has an awesome edge after a good strop! Two slow passes with straight WTG & XTG and did a touch up with the Slim but it was very quiet as there was not much left to cut. Finally found the right angle for the straight and it just glides so smooth when all is right! Got an awesome BBS shave!

This is my first use of MdC Fougere soap. Like the original MdC the soap is extremely easy to lather and the Fougere scent is great. Finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum.

Another lavender day…A great way to start a Canada Day morning. Nice clean shave, smooth sailing all the way. The Semogue 1305 performed wonderfully...I can see why this is a popular brush. For those of you who celebrate Canada Day...enjoy!
Wednesday shave, using my newly acquired birth year razor (yay!), a black handled Gillette Super Speed Proraso all the way, pre, soap and post. And Italian brushwise as well, the Omega 11047 mixed midget. Curious shave. The razor seems extremely kind, yet I ended up with a few weepers here and there, and burns and bumps on my neck. Was using a new Feather blade. Anyone care to shed some light on the Super Speed? It's from 1978, if that matters.

I've tried every SS, even my black Handled birth year, and I can't get a decent shave from any of them. I think if I used them as my main razor and got the technique down, I would be able to get good shaves from them. Someone told me that the blade jumps around in the razor, that's why you get wheapers. Haha. I think it boils down to using different angles and technique for them.
I get good shaves with my Super Speeds. I haven't noticed the blade jumping around, and I don't crank the TTO to tight. IMO. Others here may chime in with more information now that you brought it up.
Yes sir - another awesome shave which was so much fun. The smoothness and sharpness from a brand-new Derby blade, the rich, slick lather from the MITA soap with its cooling sensation, and finally a splash of Alt Innsbruck to freeze me even more. What else can I ask for?
I have decided that I will be doing a 30 day Rule starting today. My objective is to become proficient at face lathering, something I seldom do. One thing I am hoping to discover is how much I should load the brush. I routinely over-load the brush and am hoping I can break that habit. I will be sticking with the same brush, razor (slim adjustable set on 7) and blade (Ladas). I will be using MDC as my soap and adding small amounts of creams to add scent or menthol. Actually, I will be using either MDC Unscented or MDC Lavender, depending on my mood. They are for all practical purposes identical except for the scent. 30 Day Rule Lavender MDC Ladas Blade Slim Adjustable set to 7 I do have a question for those who routinely face lather. When I am face lathering and I want to mix a soap and a cream, I simply put a little cream on my face and neck, load the brush on the soap, and then the two mix together on my face as I am forming my lather. However, how would I mix two soaps? I can't spread a soap on my cheeks. When using a scuttle, I will smush a small amount of one of the soaps into the scuttle, load the brush with the other soap, and the two mix inside the scuttle. Any suggestions?
