Many firsts
I recently traded for Midnight and Two soap in the Cabin scent, as well as Van Yulay pre shave oil and balm. The soap has a masculine combination of cedar and pine with some other aspects. I'd say it's pleasant and reminds me of the cabin my family used to rent up North in summer. I won't really review it yet, but my first impression is a good one. The oil went on easily and did not seem to clog the razor, though this was not a great shave. I broke the rule about trying one new thing at a time, so I cannot pin down the weak link. It could just have been the blade or technique. I had a few small weepers and some burn, so I used the sample of Van Yulay Idzan balm and it worked great. The scent is in the tobacco family and the burn was gone quick. I used some Roam aftershave to round out this very manly scented shave.

MdC today. 20 seconds to load the oscar11 Boar. Great, easy, thick, lather. Gillette Platinum still in the Fatboy. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with CC Modern Fougere.

today's shave was ok.I had to work a little to get the yogarty lather. three passes and a lot of touch- up. I'm smooth but not as comfy as normal. I finished with special reserve(it burned some). just goes to show we're not always as studly as we think we are.

Go for it! Get that baby into high gear! Use a higher setting for a WTG pass, then dial it down to finish. Who says it has to stay the same time entire shave?

Great shave! This Omega 10066 is a beast! WSP Tobacco is a nice soap, so easy to lather. I've been on a Lab Blue run lately, I'll try other blades in the Fatty in the coming days.

New Brush, New Test​

Yesterday I met a gentleman here in Milan who has a razor he said it was dull and not suitable for shaving, but he really wanted to use this razor for shaving as he wished to get into the art of straight razor shaving. He wanted me to hone this razor, so I went to his house and - by using a Belgian coticule and a Mastro Livi loom strop - I honed and fixed his razor. He was so happy he could now shave with this razor that he wanted to give me an Omega brush as a sign of gratitude. I too was happy because we now have another convert to straight razors. I used this Omega Professional 10098 bristle brush in my today's shave and it was also the occasion to test my shaving soap with it. Smooth and velvety with an outstanding huge quantity of creamy and fluffy lather, I am very happy with my shaving soap, although I am already working on a new formula because I want it to be even better. As for the razor, this Mastro Livi "the Last New Grind" is always reliable and impeccable, not to mention the elegant and super refreshing splash of Floïd Blue.​

It is Tobacco Tuesday! The Horse Hair brush whipped up the Tobacco #1 into a very nice lather. The Fat Boy and the Boker did a great job mowing down the stubble. The AV brought some chill and the Aqua H2O finished off this Darn Fine Shave.
