THURSDAY An excellent 'Jasmine-scented' shave this morning, using some new products from the TSD store. My wife however, finds the jasmine scent pleasing enough (as do I), but feels its a bit too 'girlie-scented' for me. Hmmmmm. Part of me thinks she simply wants the post-shave splash for herself. Have a great Thursday, all!
Bonjour Messieurs, We are just 5 days after and 5 days before our respective national holidays, so this sotd is bit themed. And also I had to retry the Bohin before it left : Not tooo bad... Bonne journée !

Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap Soap/cream- DR Harris Arlington shaving soap and Proraso sandalwood Brush- Semogue 1470 Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable (7) Blade- Astra SP(2) Post- Cold water rinse, Old Spice original aftershave lotion and Nivea Sensitive cooling aftershave balm Hand lathered DR Harris, got a great lather. Nice first pass. But in the second pass the lather had broken down. Hero of the day was Proraso red. From load to GREAT Lather I swear it took around 30 seconds hahaha granted I only needed one pass, I still got enough for 2-3 passes. It was a long time ago I used proraso red, but im sure gonna put it out where I can see it and grab it. Maybe to get a really close shave I need an XTG pass the other direction. But no time today =P off to work I see some patches here and there I didn't get as close as the rest of the face. I don't know why, I was careful and payed attention. It's weird, I gotta get that technique in again.

SOTD: '63 Slim on 8 Astra SP (4) Muhle synthetic black fibre brush J.F. Martin's Bergamont, Rose, Lavender, Vetiver Thayer's Rose Floid Blue I've owned this brush for almost a year and this was only the third time I've used it because I just really haven't liked it that much. I figured today that I'd give it another shot so I took it in the shower and washed it and it performed much better than the previous two times. I'm wondering if I just need to break it in more (this is my first synthetic so it's more than likely different from my badger brushes). The JF Martin soap is absolutely phenomenal stuff and I just love the scent. I did find the max comfortable shaves out of the Astra is 3 because the fourth caused a tad bit of irritation on the neck. I'll probably just stick to my Feathers but it's nice having some good back up blades, as I'm down to my last pack of GSB's.
Thursday's Shave Prep: Hot shower w/ Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap: Arko Brush: Omega 13522 Razor: '46 - '50 Gillette Tech Blade: Astra SP Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm Good quick 2 pass shave today. Face been a bit irritated lately so I'm avoiding ATG for a bit.
Grandpa's Pine Tar soap is the absolute best! I buy 12 packs from Amazon about every three months. Hat and Speick bar soap are the only soaps I use anymore.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to get it locally at a reasonable price. I even wash my hair with it. Great for my skin.
9jul15 First time using the blue tip SS. VERY mild. Also figured I better use my other brushes some. This is one that is a bit too floppy for me but I'm getting used to "how to use" it. It still smells of animal, that how little I've used it. I also got a couple nicks today, I believe due to the SS being so light and mild. I tended to apply extra pressure thinking I wasn't cutting anything. B2 Blue tip SS Astra SS(1) Williams mug soap
