IMHO, neither the Charlie Chaplain/Hittler stach nor the pencil line work for you, sorry. The soul patch works tho. Can you get away with a full moustache (to both corners of your upper lip)?
Yep. Go for a full-on Thomas Magnum Movember grade stache -- looks like you've got the genes for one. No patch, imo; bloom out the stache and you won't need it.
If you're referring to restrictions in the chemical plants by having no facial hair interfering with the wearing of respirators ( my assumption) you should be able to sport a full goatee and mustache, as long as the equipment can properly seal. IMO I'd go with that look.
I can not not comment on this thread…. I favor soul patches—worn one for many moons myself—but prefer they be well-trimmed/groomed beneath the lip. The combo with 'stache works for me—but mainly because my wife likes the look. Of course, my pseudo-Dartanian look isn't so subtle…
Yeah but hair can't go past the lips and not on the bottom of the chin which makes for a weird look. This is what I decided to try for a little while
The soul patch thing looks fine IMHO. If you decide you don't like it, you can always go completely clean shaven.
Clearly the soul patch as so many others have opined from @PLANofMAN to @Primotenore Definitely fits your face. A bit wider/ longer could work as well. Once established, consider mustache variations. As with @HolyRollah i am fond of the Dartanian look, as well as the pencil-thin mustache, the Boston Blackie kind. But you gotta have the attitude to go with those. So do a basic stache first and then experiment. Well done @txskimo bring back character! YMMV
For your facial features, since you cannot have a full Van Dyke (Mustache and Goatee combined) due to work restrictions, then go Soul Patch only.
I think the pencil mustache looks good, but I imiagine they would be a PITA to keep up, especialy with a straight. I would say keep the soul patch and call it good.
Playing fast & loose with the 'lose' word! 'playing fast and loose' idiom; def: to treat something or someone without enough care
