The razor is finaly finished and remained a plain Jane,I have been thinking about the differential heat treatment and have come to the conclusion that I have goofed ,It has to be honed with tape on the spine otherwise over time the spine will wear quicker than the edge.It just has to be honed now ,oh the centre piece is New Zealand paua shell instead of abaloneand the ends are nickle silver ,the wedge is brass. It looks black in the pics but the interior of the scales is bright blue the spacers on the shell is black kind regards Peter PS and yess Bill all the pieces line up perfectly both top and bottom,not being a smart ass but I knew you would be wondering
Well I have given it the acid test and it shaved pretty well ,just needs a little more honing and Im going to chang the finish on the blade to satin, thanks for the kind words Kind regards Peter
