Here we go - another week's about to start! Menthol Monday: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 6 Italian Palmolive Menthol SC Gold Bond Moisturizer Mennen Skin Bracer AS Not as frigid a set-up as I usually choose for a Menthol Monday Shave, but still very cold and nice. The Palmolive Menthol cream from Italy is a top favourite of mine. Smells, lathers, cools, and cares great. Ain't nothing like the Gold Bond and Skin Bracer to finish off with!
Monday's Dove Men Face Wash Soap Commander Renewal Jayaruh #4 High Mountain Merkur 15C Astra SP CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Cucumber WH Aqua Velva The Soap Commander Renewal Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #4 High Mountain badger brush. Two passes with my Merkur 15C razor and a Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
July 20 Plans MdC facial soap Gillette Fat Boy (8) Feather blade (2) Edwin Jagger XL Synthetic STF V2.0 Geo F. Trumper's Coconut Oil cream Two passes plus touch-ups Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food Today was my first experience with Trumper's Coral Skin Food (I like it) and the FB on setting 8. I notice a difference in aggressiveness between settings 7 and 8. I will need to take extra care on 8 to avoid getting weepers and irritation. So far, the FB on 7 for two passes suits me the best. The EJ synthetic brush is changing my opinion of synthetics in general. It doesn't perform as well as my natural hair brushes, but it's awfully close. I can see it being my "go to" travel brush due to its overall ease of use. Stay cool!
I agree with the FB setting. 6-7 seems good for me, too. I have gone higher, but it feels a bit dicey.
Menthol Monday, July 20, 2015 Day 18 with the Mongoose Shower, Dove Soap, Neutrogena Face Wash B-3 Mongoose with Triad Helix Hex TI Feather ProGuard #2 Paladin PK-47 Butterscotch Marble Two Band 26X47mm Stirling Soap Co. Margaritas in the Arctic Alum Block, Dickinson’s ++Menthol, Unrefined Shea Butter Krampert's Frostbite Aftershave Brooks Brothers 1818 Late shave Sunday night. This is the second shave with the Feather ProGuard (FPG) blade. Initially I thought the FPG was sharper than the Feather Professional (FP) blade. Perhaps not sharper but maybe more aggressive, or my blade memory is short. The true test will be the blade’s longevity. So far the FP went 9 shaves, the Kai Mild 7. The Paladin P-47 Butterscotch Marble Brush generated enough lather for 4 or 5 passes. This Paladin has the same two-band badger hair as the TSN LE Paladin, however it has a denser knot and a shorter Loft (47mm) giving it more backbone while maintaining substantial splay and a slight scritch. It holds lather very well and has excellent flow through. Stirling MITA’s first time out the gate, using a Modified Marco Lathering Method suggested by @ram57, generated a creamy slick lather that chilled my face with decent moisturizing. Mmmmmm, Finished with a healthy splash of Krampert’s Frostbite After Shave. I’m hooked, on good smelling COOL! Have a great week gentlemen!

Well I'm bummed. I went looking for the MITA and nowhere to be found. Asked the family if they had seen it and daughter confessed to using it all up. That's what happens when you have too much gear to keep track of it. And to think I had placed an order with Striling on Friday.

This razor is darn near as aggressive as the mighty R41. Handle with care. A better tomorrow. Takes your best today!
Well, the Palmolive Menthol cream gave me a very icy jolt as well as great lather like it always does. I still sort of missed shaving with one of my Gacials, but there's always tomorrow!

Outstanding Menthol Monday I hadn't used this Frosbyte/Frostbite combination in a long time. The Colonel made excellent thick very cold lather that nearly brought tears to my eyes. I made sure the Fatboy doors were completely closed and aligned with a Voskhod blade installed for its third shave. I barely felt the whiskers going to their doom, and my face feels great. I finished with KFF, leaving me wanting to repeat this shave. I like the tea tree oil in the Frostbyte and the skin care provided by the aftershave.
