Tuesday's frigid action: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Large Horsehair Barbershop Super Speed/Derby day 7 Stirling Glacial Spearmint SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Osage Rub AS Old Spice Cologne Hey, a menthol lover like me has to have fun sometimes, right? This set-up is much colder than my Menthol Monday one last time - the Glacial Spearmint soap lays a lethal freeze on a man's face with great lather and such a beautiful scent. After a good massage with the Gold Bond moisturizer the Rubby Dubby Doo puts another heavy-duty coating of ice on the skin which feels so delightful. This past week my Derby blade performed so well - it gave me great BBS results each time!
I had a Lazy Man's No Shave Day today. I'll get to go after it tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good Monday.

Tuesday, July 21 Another Day at The Salt Mine Shave Razor: Standard Raw (not silver...) Blade: Astra SP Brush: Strongset Soap: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man I've been experimenting with my Fat Boy the past few days after learning how great my new Ikon is. Now I have another new razor to try, a Standard. No, I did not violate NBJ because this was the June Massdrop purchase and it wasn't delivered until now. Woo hoo for technicalities! Really looking forward to this shave! Looks just like something from one of my favorite movies! Can you name it? Thanks Jarayah (I think).
MENTHOL MONDAY PRE: MUSGO REAL CLASSIC SCENT RAZOR: GILLETTE TECH BLADE: PERMA-SHARP BRUSH: OMEGA S SYNTHETIC SOAP: TABAC (BOMBED WITH MENTHOL GLYCERIN) POST: MENTHOLATED MASTERS BAY RUM/ ARKO ACTION BALM It felt very weird to post a menthol Monday pic with no menthol products in it. Haven't used Tabac in a while and the menthol glycerin made it even more awesome than Tabac by itself. The Omega S Synthetic whipped up a nice lather that was very yougart-like consistency that I was concerned about at first but it ended up working great. Turned out to be a frozen face menthol Monday! stay frosty my friends!
30 Day Rule - July 2015 July 20th Razor - Feather SS AC/Gillette New LC Blade - (4) (2 1/3) Brush - Omega 10066 (BoS) Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Post - Cold Water splash, The Veg Something different today - an evening shave. Since my Sunday shave came in the early afternoon I decided this morning to wait until evening to shave to give it a bit more growth time. I'll shave late morning tomorrow and mid morning on Wednesday to move the schedule back around by Thursday. So....let's see if the different part of the day does anything with the shave. Another great lather from the BoS and Fat. Seems like that's the brush the soap has been waiting for. Went Feather SS for the first pass and it felt great. Next to my goatee on the right side I felt a little tug but went on. Left side I started with my left hand and switched back to Japanese style halfway through as yesterday. This hybrid method is working great. No nicks or cuts on the left at all. Turned back to the right to lather and......where did that come from? Nice trickle of blood along my jawline next to my goatee. Must have been what I felt was the tug. Rinsed it and lathered again. Went XTG with the Feather all over and went gently over the bloody spot. Used the New LC to finish the neck. Everything ended DFS for the shave so I hit the cold water and alum. That spot on the right really sang but the rest was fairly quiet. Was able to see that I had a cut or slice on the right side. I think I put the blade down wrong by the slightest amount and it was actually a slice I felt, not a tug. The alum took care of it. No more bleeding but you can tell where the slice is. All in all acceptable. Two good passes with the Feather plus a DE cleanup for the DFS. I'll take it, even with the blood. Hope you all got Monday out of the way. I have a Dr.'s appointment in the morning but otherwise tomorrow is my free day. My favorite day of the week!
Yeah I bought a 1 kilo tub. It has a unigue consistancy, kind of a paste like substance. I was given the following tip to improve lather and performance: Put a 1/4 cup amount into a shave mug/bowl and let it dry out for a few days before use. The lemon scent improves considerably as well. Ive mostly used it to uber lather other soaps that dont have the best properties, like the Proraso I mixed it with today.
That's why I like this place. The vast amount of combined knowledge is staggering! And, Gort thanks you for keeping him in the public eye! It helps him with the ladies!
