I believe/think it's designed by Kenneth Grange who did the Wilkinson Sticky amongst a lot of other things. It has proven to be a tough razor to get a lot of information about.
It shipped today......a J1 (1964) Gillette Slim I won on the bay Saturday. It looks like it may need a bit of TLC but it's my first major razor purchase in awhile and my first adjustable. I'm planning a trip for it to be cleaned and replated.
I'm waiting for the following: P.A.A. Miami Libre Shave Soap P.A.A. Ice Scentless Pre Save Stick The Phoenix Double Open Comb Razor (Cant wait to try it) Stirling Soap Ozark Mountain Scent Stirling Soap Vetiver Witch Hazel & Aloe Santalum Fumus Shave Soap from So Sharp Limited
As an Atlanta native, your pic brings up fond memories. I need to get down there for lunch on of these days.
Rockwell has not emailed me back but a reseller on another forum who is selling the complete razor and individual components stated the issue has been isolated to the top cap and a MIM (metal injected mould) topcap will be available in the fall.
Waiting on the synthetic brush and a tub of Ozark Mountain from Stirling, and some samples of Myrsol and Floid from Garry.
Well I have the other Saponificio Varesino shave soaps and enjoy them a lot so I decided to give their 70th Anniversary shave soap and AS a try.
Currently waiting on some TSD soap (vanilla plus menthol), menthol bomb and one of those cookie bag things from the Shave Den store...
The travel kit I ordered. Comes with Murkur 4pc razor with small pouch, Edwin Jagger portable shave brush, Arko shave stick and a travel pouch.
I uh...decided I needed a companion to my other Rubberset 400-3 so picked up this one today. I LOVE the 400 metal handle and it has quickly become my go-to brush. This one does seem a wee bit 'tired' though... Maybe I can bribe @clint64 with something to give it some TLC. Since I love the handle so much I thought it would be really fun to have two..but with very different knots in them... Now I just need to figure out what would be a good compliment to the one that has a silvertip badger in it... Hmmm...... maybe a boar...maybe a synth....maybe a different badger....maybe horse.... Unfortunately, to me, the wooden brush and 'neck shaper' are complete write-offs as I have zero interest in either of them. They'll go into the box of undesirables to be brought out during the sale. Probably sold as a lot with other stuff like that. I also picture @mrchick right now crafting a small voodoo doll of me and shoving hot needles into my rubberset-owning-doll-body.
