No such luck but......a flair tip superspeed and a 40s superspeed...gotta decrud them for date codes. And..a slim. Waiting to decrud as well. The slim definitely makes the package better. Pictures to come later in The Haul.
Well I need another brush like I need a hole in the head but picked up a Leonhardy 700740 24/67mm in faux tortoise which comes with a Muhle travel case and a bottle of Myrsol Emulsion Pre/Post Emulsion.
Won this today. The knot looks pretty good, so I might just use it as is. Just kidding. I think I'll reknot it and replate it. Also waiting for my first R.A. Rooney brush! Too bad it's just an R.A. Rooney bone handled toothbrush. Also getting a few more natural bristle toothbrushes from classic shaving, along with a tub of Poraso Red.
Penn No 40 Adjustable SE Safety Razor.... Last night I pressed the But it Now Button on this USA Made PENN No 40 Adjustable SE Razor ....There are a few variation's of the USA Made PENN SE around and they tend to go quite cheap because they use a proprietary blade which are no longer available.... These Penn No 40 adjustable Sets are not as common.....I have the original proprietary blades coming with this quite unusual adjustable set and I will use them as a Template and or cut the front off from one to seat an injector blade to make it shave ready....I am not sure of the width of these proprietary blades but I am confident that either a Standard Injector Blade, Personna Hair Shaper Blade or a Feather Injector Blade will fit with some modification's ..... This will be an Injector Blade SE Razor once I get my Mitts on it..... Billy
Aye, she looks in really good condition....There were other photos, but I cant copy them, but its a Closed Comb Design very much like the Christy that I have...I saw another one of these but its going for stupid money..... Billy
MIRAK the Miraculous Safety Razor with Miracle Blades..... Another Shot.... And lastly.... I just bought this NOS MIRAK - The Miraculous Safety Razor made in Bloomfield New Jersey USA.....The seller said that its got two patent dates, July 1919 and June 1920 stamped on it....I have came across these before but they have always been in extremely poor condition.....When I saw this I said to myself.....Billy Boy this has got your name stamped all over it.....The USA seller was wanting £45.00 for it and I made him an offer of £35.00 .....He accepted my offer and I am delighted with my NOS purchase..... Here again this razor takes a propriety blade that is not currently available....I don't know if this will take a Modern GEM Blade without any modification....I will have to wait and see.....It will certainly take a modified Gem Blade or an injector blade.... Once I get my paws on it this razor will sure stand up to its name and have a Miracle Blade .... Billy
Yeah, so it is.....You wouldn't Credit that...."There's Not Much That Goes Past Your All Seeing Eyes Sir"..... He reckons that the blade is the same width as a modern SE blade, but a bit shorter....I suspected that was the case by looking at it....A Gem Blade should be easy enough to shorten and re- spine again and still got the Injector blade option.... Might do both.... Billy
My Russin bear has dry feet! It arrived in New York from the Ukraine today. Hopefully I'll be seeing it soon.
American Comfort Lather Catcher.... And another.... And Lastly.... I just won this a few minute's ago on Flea - Bay UK.....I saw this last week starting at a £9.50 starting Bid and I couldn't get my bid to register.....It was relisted and there was two other bidders on it tonight.....I stuck on a maximum of £20.00 and walked away....I got it for £16.00 & £1.99 postage.....Cant be bad at that as these Comfort Lather Catchers can cost you a "Few Dollars More" in the USA.....She looks in very good condition as well....I am not sure of the manufacturing date on this one but it must be over 100 yrs. Old......I am getting my friend to make me up some stainless handles for these old Lather Catchers as I don't care for some of the original handles ......I have heard it said that these American Comfort Lather Catchers offer the shave of your life with the original wedge blade.....This Model will take a Modern GEM SE Blade with some Shimming ..... Good Karma..... Billy
In addition to the Chubby, I'm now also waiting on one of those new Stirling synthetics that all the cool kids are taking about, Stirling Lemon Chill balm, a few Stirling bath soaps, and Catie's Bubbles' Royal Garden shave soap.
I'm waiting for a pound of African Black Soap. I really want to try it out and am intrigued as to how it would perform. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058NANJC/?tag=thshde-20
Came across a straight that looked quite decent for price of $35 so pulled the trigger on it. Also traded two soaps for bottle of Small Batch Shave Tonic that I initially purchased 12/13 for self Christmas present but gave to granddaughter so she could place under the tree from her to me but instead of under the tree she placed in stocking above the fireplace but the added weight of the 7.5oz bottle caused it to came crashing down. Since then it has been hard to find as constantly OOS on their website and able to pull off the trade.
